If you had an I-485 interview then you likely won’t get an I-751 interview, and so you might have the green card issued with the wrong name.  In that case I would ask the lawyer to try to fix it.

If you had no I-485 interview, then you will get an I-751 interview and you can get it fixed as soon as you are sworn in.

We did have an interview for I-485, so thank you for that. I will ask the lawyers to try to fix it. I also havehttp:// https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=typoError that the USCIS contact center bot pointed me to as something I could myself do but maybe the lawyers themselves should do.

Thank you for the response, nevertheless. Much appreciated.

Uscis received my package on Monday and last night they charged my credit card (transaction is still showing as pending). I have not received any text email notifications from uscis. Any of you had the same experience? Can someone also paste the link for the spreadsheet so I can update my details. Sorry, I can't find it anymore.

Thank you!

We got our text notification ( no email) two days after USCIS received our package. Don't worry too much about that. They are not consistent with their notifications.  Here is the spreadsheet:

We get no text messages from USCIS for this filing despite asking for them.  I am not surprised either.  I didn’t expect it to work.

We received a text, no email, for our I-751.  We were stunned.  For both our I-129f and I-485 we never got any electronic notification even though we submitted the form asking for it.  For the latter two we only received the actual paper NOA.

Question: do you have to include affidavits from close family/friends on the package?

In the instructions, the affidavit is listed as an "example" of evidence to prove the relationship.    So we included that.

What I'm curious about is the folks who submitted the marriage cert and the passport copy for the American citizen.   We did not include the marriage cert or either passport, as they were not requested in the instructions, either as a requirement or as an example of evidence.   By virtue of issuing the GC, seems they were satisfied that the marriage took place, and it was our interpretation that they want to now see that the marriage was legit and most all of our submission was evidence supporting that......including the affidavits.

We also didn't go for the complete documentation of two years of bank/credit card statements.    We showed the first joint statement, the current joint statement and one around Jan/Feb of 2021.   Again, figuring that we are showing consistency throughout time.   We also had requested and submitted bank letters and insurance letters stating "Spouse was added on this day, and is still on the statement / policy" to show we were not adding and deleting the person from the account just to generate a statement in both names.

In all honesty, I was curious too, and I even panicked right after I sent my package thinking I did something wrong. I went back to the uscis website and the instructions, and it doesn’t mention that as a requirement. I know that this process might make people feel anxious, and I understand that putting as many documents together create a sense of comfort around the application. I didn’t put my marriage certificate  or copy of passport (mine and my spouse) as not listed on the instructions. I also believe a marriage certificate is a proof that the marriage exists (which was already verified when I applied for my spouse visa), not that the marriage is genuine. I also didn’t put all my bank statements. I selected two. One at the beginning of last year and the latest one.

I hope they saw my g1145 form requesting notifications. The charge on my credit card has been finalised, but I have never got a text from them. Hopefully, I’ll receive a text or an email one day….

In general, I agree with you.  We did not include my proof of US citizenship either.

If the green card was approved without an I-485 interview, then there will likely if not certainly be an I-751 interview.  At the interview I would expect the  IO to want to see the citizen’s original proof of US citizenship.  So if one thinks they will get an interview, including a photo copy of original proof of US citizenship might be prudent.  If nothing else, this forces the couple to be prepared for the interview.

We are not going expecting an interview.

We included  one bank and brokerage statement from each quarter since our I-485 interview.

Hello old friend). This was our approach, too. No use covering things already provided. I understand the impulse to provide extra evidence but it really isn't necessary. I have mentioned this before. I work at a federal agency that has a similar work flow to USCIS. When you open a case that has hundreds of documents it often gets put to the side until you have time to go through a much more complex case. Provide what is asked for. There is no need to frontload an ROC petition.

So did we. They seem to like to see the transaction history over time, and that the account is really being used as a married couple. We did, however, include. statements back to the beginning of the account. It was a little redundant, but it meant only adding two more statements.

we just did a bank statement for every 4 months instead of every quarter should be sufficient i would think. i think our evidence is pretty solid, we also included car loan, tax transcripts, leases for both apartments, insurance beneficiaries, both driver's licenses, utility bills showing she is also an authorized representative etc fortunately we didnt have a lot of complicated situations and share everything

still waiting for the notification and check to be cashed, signed up for the text/email, but haven't got those either

Sounds like good evidence to me!
