10/25/2021 Mailed Packet Via FedEx

10/26/2021 Packet Received

10/28/2021 Text message MSC case #

10/29 Check Cashed

NOA in the mail.

Our window was supposed to open 10/26/21.

So I decided to send the package on 10/25/21 to be delivered the next day that way it will arrive the exact day our window opens.

Everything worked out well.

Long way to go before approval but hey...any progress is progress haha

Hello again fellow VJers. 751 time for us, as well, and we're Oct 2021 filers ahead of a Jan 22 expiry date for GC.

A bunch of things came up in life all at once, so I had to whip the whole package together in a couple hours. I actually completed the PDF app once before, but forgot to save it to the cloud (going back and forth due to ongoing move).

In our "conditional" time together, we've welcomed a baby and just now moving to a different state (I actually waited a couple days into the 90d period to file, in order to avoid the hassle of change addresses later).

Pkg:

- joint bank account statements (didn't print all banks, just chose a couple main ones, and only the last two months)

- joint investment accounts (again just chose a couple main institutions)

- joint auto title and home purchase/tax docs

- baby birth cert and birth letter (photocopies)

- photos (not a lot to see, since we didn't travel anywhere. Just some casuals of pregnancy progress and with family/friends during pandemic)

Mailed USPS 10/20/2021

Check cashed/posted to account 10/27 (nope on the credit card, now and forever on paper applications. Too many numbers/possibilities to typo imo)

Lessons learned and stuff omitted since the 485... less neurotic about having every little detail stuffed in. Also no joint tax returns because I honestly just forgot about it. No travel evidence, either, even though I had fully paid bookings for our second honeymoon slated for early '20 that never happened due to the pandemic. No affidavits this time because we repeatedly heard they were the weakest evidence + I just felt too awkward about imposing this on friends. Organized it into a couple sleeves, but didn't make an entire bound presentation like last time.

I have to agree with you.  I think we all went crazy with the 485.  I think my wife and I included quite a bit in our 751... it's a darn good package... but it just wasn't quite as frenetic this time.

I think at the end of the day we with legit relationships will all be ok and get our approvals.  I am sure you hit on all the necessary items and have ample proof.

Good luck to you.  My wife and I are just happy to be 'in the queue' now.  It'll be a wait for sure but at least the clock has started ticking.  🙂

Joint I-751 filed for my wife Iris (petitioner), and me (spouse) today. Evidence:

  • Green card
  • Our drivers licenses showing same address
  • USPS Informed Delivery records showing same address
  • Life insurance policy on spouse showing petitioner as beneficiary
  • Health insurance cards showing both our names
  • Joint auto insurance policy with both our names
  • Auto Insurance cards with both our names
  • IRS tax transcripts for 2019 and 2020 showing joint filing
  • Joint investment account statements (one per quarter since AOS interview)
  • Joint bank account statements  (one per quarter since AOS interview). During the 10 days between AOS interview and approval, I made myself useful and added a bunch of bills to autopay out of that account
  • Joint AAA car membership
  • Joint car title
  • Joint car registration
  • Joint Costco membership
  • 8 flight itineraries showing our names
  • One resort booking showing both names with evidence of both checking in
  • One cruise ship booking showing both our names with evidence of both boarding
  • Photos with both of us, and some with friends and family. Captioned.
  • Statements in support of relationship from two of spouse's friends

Received NOA1 today. As we expect to relocate before we get the 10 year green card and/or before we file N-400, we set our mailing address to a virtual mail box that let's us redirect mail to any address in the world. So waited two extra days to receive the document.

I've no idea why our status on posts and comments doesn't show us as filing I-751 despite the timeline updates.

Hello Everyone,

My wife and I filed a joint I-751 petition on October 14, 2021.

Received Date: Oct 15, 2021

Notice Date: Oct 18, 2021

Code: MSC

Center: National Benefits Center

Entry into US: CR1

We are in a tight spot in terms of timing of the biometrics appointment:

My wife travels to aboard on Nov 15, 2021.

My wife is back on Dec 24, 2021.

We are concerned that the Biometrics date may come while she is traveling.

It would be great if you could provide an estimate of the biometrics appointment timeline? Based on the timeline above, is it highly likely that the Biometrics date may come while she is aboard? I read that the Biometrics can be rescheduled, but the new date will be 30 days from the original date.

Thank you for your inputs,

N&M

I am in a similar situation. I sent my package to Phoenix on Friday and it will be delivered tomorrow, however, I am going to travel for a month around Christmas time to see my family. I really hope I don't get an appointment then.

Also, question for other filers. Are biometrics appointment and notifications sent via letter or via email? I included the e-notification form in my package. I will be out of the country with my husband (US citizen) and I won't be able to check the mail for a while.

@Islewoman1 Thank you. How much notice do they give? Your timeline said you had your biometrics taken. How long did it take you to receive the letter?  I've read of people having them waived. I honestly don't understand the criteria behind it. I entered on a CR1 visa and I direct filed to the US embassy in my home country. Not sure if that gives any meaningful context :)

People who had to adjust status, had to do biometrics and be interviewed. Because of this, their interviews are often waived for ROC. Entering on a CR1 visa, you didn't adjust status, so you'll need biometric and an interview this time. I think we'll also be seeing more ROC interviews, as most if not all AOS interviews were waived because of Covid.
