also for the pictures, did anyone print out actual pictures and tape them to paper or just print from a printer?

We printed two pages with three photos on each. They show us with family and friends. With my photo editor, .I wrote captions for them. You really don't need many photos as they are not considered strong evidence. That's a good thing because Covid limited the amount of time we were able to visit with people.

Having kids is evidence of being sexually active with someone, not evidence of a marriage (good faith or otherwise).

Well, yes but it is also VERY good evidence as at least in theory you wont have kids with someone you arent in a committed relationship with.

NOT sending in birth certificates for children you had together would be a horrible no good very bad idea.

Now, will it do anything to help a K1 or CR1 application? no. But we are all WELL past that point, so thats a moot subject.

am also debating whether to send things like hotel bills and concert tickets etc since they dont seem as strong as what we have currently.

i chose however many it was (dont remember now, maybe a half dozen or so? copied onto a word doc and printed from printer. handwrote captions on them with approximate date and who was in it.

I did include hotel and event tickets for what we had, particularly if I had photos to help back it up (some i did, some i didnt). obviously we (and many of us) will not have too much of this as with covid, travel and 'events' and being with family/friends were few and far between, but i expect USCIS will expect this. and if not, i dont know where the heck they have been the past 2 years.....

USCIS wants the latter. For I-129F, I-485, and I-751 we did the latter.  Several photos per page.

The former is going to cause paper jams with USCIS’s bulk scanner and delay your case. It’s a great opponent for essential evidence to be lost and RFEs to be generated.

I was debating doing it that way but in the end we just did it the way we did for I-485 and sent regular pictures. Also gave the interviewing officer regular pics as well. It seemed fine for us. Our AOS took a little over 5 months.  Nothing we can do now but if they lose it and need more 🤷🏽‍♀️ we’ll go from there.

Hey Everyone,

Thought I would start this thread for all my fellow October filers. Hope we can all share our progress along the way while also helping each other out, if any of us have any questions.

We sent out our I-751 package yesterday. Was pricey to send it express mail but my husband was fed up with me only fiddling with it and making changes, so he was relieved to get it out of the house lol.

Our package consisted of:

Cover Letter

Personal Check for 680

G-1145

Form I-751

Conditional GC - mine

US Passport - hubby

Marriage Certificate

Bank Cards for Joint Acc

Bank statements for checking account from the last two years

Bank statements for savings account from the time it was open to present

2020 & 2019 tax returns with W-2

2020 & 2019 tax transcript

Hubby’s drivers permit along with his previous ID showing current address

My ID showing current address

Renters Insurance for the Year 2020

Letter from landlord explaining our rental agreement

Cable and phone bill for the last two years

Credit cards for our Joint Acc

Credit card statements for the last two years showing our activities

Insurance cards for two years and also info  on our current plan

Two affidavit letters (only thing we sent that was original)

20 pictures

That’s pretty much it.  It’s a pretty big package with all the statements. We debated back and forth on what to send and after reading from people’s experiences here, we decided to be safe and send everything. Our package should get there by end of day Monday. Hopefully we’ll receive a notification by Tuesday at least. Will post any updates as this process goes along. Hope everyone else will as well.

Best of luck to all of you!

Thank you for providing details of the packet you sent. It really helps a lot. We are about to send our package soon but I am wondering when you say tax return and tax transcript what is the difference? Could you pls let me know. I got our tax return transcript online from IRS website. But what is tax returns with W2 means ? Could u let me know the form no.? We have w2 as well just wondering what else we need ?

The tax transcripts are enough as evidence,  you don't need to add the tax returns.

The difference is that transcripts are generated by IRS and prove that you actually filed, the returns are just the forms you fill before actually filing.

Thank you so much for the reply. We will submit IRS tax transcript and W2 s then.

The tax transcripts are proof that you filed with IRS. The tax returns with W2 is the copy of your taxes you file (your tax preparer usually gives you this copy).  If you have the transcripts then you don’t need to send the tax returns, but we already had them and decided to send them with the W2s because it has our current address on it.

We Mailed out I751 packed Wednesday October 13th through USPS. Arrived Friday October 15th. Received Text message today they opened it. Waiting for them to cash the check.

I am now worried as we only put our recent bank statements for our checking and savings account rather than multiple statements. We did include our tax returns from 2019 and 2020 and other bills like car insurance, life insurance, medical insurance and the newly purchased deed to our new home.  We also have letters from 4 friends and pictures. Do you guys think its okay we didn't include more bank statements since we have other evidence of us being in a relationship?

10/13 Mailed Packet VIA USPS

10/15 Packet Received

10/18 Text message received

10/19 Check Cashed

10/22 NOA arrived- Vermont is Service Center (We are in MA)

We did not receive an RFE during the K1 process. Does anyone know when you would receive an RFE after you got your NOA

Good Luck Everyone!

don’t know when they usually ask for RFEs. You shouldn’t stress about it though. If you want, in the meantime you can definitely put aside additional statements or evidence that you didn’t include already,  in case that they do want additional info. But until that time comes, (which it may or may not) don’t worry about it.

You should include you info on the spreadsheet below. Also a great to see everyone who filed before and what their timeframe looks like.

Hi all! First, I wanted to wish everyone success with the I-751 process.

We are preparing the bona fides to send in with the 751 application. My thoughts are to send in evidence for just the last 2 years since we provided evidence for the initial interview at the embassy (fiance) and the 2nd GC interview at our local USCIS office. Is anyone resending evidence from when they first met until present?

Concurring with @Joyoussinger: we sent in evidence from the date of our marriage to present, as the form instructions indicate submitting evidence "to demonstrate the circumstances of the relationship from the date of the marriage to the present date." Didn't want to chance anything!

Thirding this. We didn't send evidence from when we first met, but from the start of our marriage up to present. For reference, we submitted:

  • Jointly signed rental agreement and renewal
  • Joint renter's insurance
  • Joint bank account statements with auto loan information
  • Bill of sale for the car we bought together
  • Joint income tax returns
  • Joint health and dental insurance coverage through my spouse's employer
  • Vaccination cards
  • Family mobile phone account plan statements
  • Some more letters of support from new friends
  • Evidence of shared life events
  • Affidavit of name change signed by relatives

That said, now I'm wondering if I should have since our receipt for the I-751 is in a different location (SRC) from the one for the I-485 (MSC). 🤔

I'm still watching our account to see when they've taken the money out, since I don't actually have the I-797 yet.
