Interview next week - what to bring??

The interview is next week, and I'm curious, the appointment letter says if I'm here because of marriage, I need to bring my spouse's birth certificate? Is that necessary, or is a passport good?

Also, I watched many videos, and people brought tax return transcripts. However, the letter doesn't mention this. Do I need to bring that as well?

Finally, anything else I'm missing? So far I have:

Green card

Marriage Certificate

State Issued ID

Passport

Tax Returns Transcript (???)

Spouse Passport (or do I really need birth certificate??)

First of all you have to bring your confidence with you.

Secondly, it is always good to have your spouse's ids. You never know what officer you might have. Also, if those 3 years tax returns are not heavy, bring them with you. You can never have too much papers when it comes to immigration.

Bring tax returns and all finance papers to prove your wife sponsor you. I saw one man's visa  was postponed just because he didn't have those papers. Good luck!

I guess I can print them out, but I don't understand... I already sent them in with my N400 form, they already have a copy.

Did those people not submit it with their N400 form? Was that the reason?

I thought you were talking about interview for getting visa. But I think anyway better print all you sent and have them

Depending on when you have applied, you probably haven’t submitted the latest tax documents. If you go to the IRS website, you can download or request a paper version of the tax transcript, showing you have no tax debt. The IO asked for ours, and I had all the transcripts for the past 5 years, she was only interested in the most recent one though.

in short, any additional evidence that you may have in addition to when you submitted, take it with you! There’s a high chance they won’t ask for anything, but if they do, you‘ll be prepared.

and… relax, it’s a great step forward, be ready to celebrate!

I would take all the docs you sent prior to your interview. I took all mine and also had my wife with me. They did not require any of the docs. My wife was told to not come with me for the short interview. All took about 10-15mins total. Always good to play it safe by taking all you can with you. You just never know who you would have interview you. Best of luck to you.

You need to bring everything that you have submitted with N400. All original such as marriage certificate, spouse's naturalization certificate ( not spouse's passport), greencard, your passport, tax returns ,ID etc. Every IO is different but you should prepare to face any of them

spouse was born in the US, so there's no naturalization certificate.

Oh ok. In that case spouse's birth certificate. If you noticed, it actually says on the interview letter (somwhere at the bottom regarding what to bring if u r applying through spouse)that either spouse's birth certificate or certificate of naturalization .

So what if I became a citizen automatically (through mother's naturalization when I was < 18 years old) and don't have a Certificate of Naturalization? Now my wife is applying for naturalization, what should she bring? The only proof I have of being a citizen is my passport (and my mother's Certificate of Naturalization + my foreign birth certificates with a translation that were used as proof when first applying for a passport).

Your US passport should work as well.  Please read the interview letter and follow its  instructions

I actually found something else.  You can actually get a certificate by filling N600 application  if u want

https://www.uscis.gov/n-600

Although its also say having a Valid Unexpired US passport is also a proof

Just had the interview Thursday, and passed! Turns out I didn't need any of that! Had my spouse there, turns out he had to go in as well because we filed an I-751 before filing the N400. The interview was for both.

All they checked was our marriage certificate, his driver's license, my green card, my driver's license, passport, and that was it!
