DS160 when to fill out? [merged threads]

Hi All, 

We are looking for any advice.

We had our NVC case number for my K1 visa by calling NVC. From the number we assumed that they assigned the number on Sep 18th 2021, we had also updated our email to their system. However, until now we havent received any email or letters from NVC, not even a welcoming letter. 

I am wondering if I can fill out DS 160 from now?

Can I submit the DS 160 at least? Or it has an expiration date to be valid?

At this point the USC should make sure they have the supporting documents for the I 134 (that is the IRS transcripts for 2020 tax returns)

 

whether or not u can do anything else is embassy dependent

and u do not state that here so check the US embassy in your country for further instructions

Hi Jeanne, thank you for the reply. We have all of the documents ready. Every single thing except the medical and DS160. I have completed the DS160, just last step hasnt been done yet which is submitting the completed form.

We are applying via Netherlands embassy. Do you have any advic on what else we can do or we just need to wait for instructions?

Please use our online appointment system to make or reschedule a non-immigrant visa appointment.

you will schedule your own appointment according to site 

after which instructions about the dr for medical will be sent 

DO NOT  do the medical too soon as it expires in 6 months and that is also expiration of the visa

so, do medical as close to interview as possible  / some have had to do interview and medical after because of covid / case just goes in state of Refused till medical is received (no big issue)

Thank you for the info. Can we start with DS160 when our case in CEAC is still stated as 'AT NVC' and we haven't gotten our welcome letter?

Hi everyone. I kmow this is put of topic but I couldnt find out how to start annew one in this group.

We are currently at NVC stage for my K1 visa. Anyone has any idea how long is the wait time for the interview nowadays? Is there any of you just scheduled one? We would love to know what to expect.

Depends on your country/embassy.

If the case is at the NVC you run the risk of scheduling an appointment before the file arrives. I would watch the case and if it shows as "in transit" or ready to schedule then go ahead and do it.  DS-160, and any other MRV fee is only good for year.

Please can you let me know when you get the welcome letter or when called NVC did they give you NVC case number and invoice ID or only NVC case number? And in the note of approval from uscis is there priority date on it?? Mine has no priority date. Thanks
