Hi. I am in Houston, and in fact you can get the ID or DL. Sometimes is matter of trying a few times, it took me 3 DPS visits to get somebody to accept the case and send the consult on the SAVE system for validation of status. After 10 days or so, they are able to issue you a document which is valid for 12 months. Then upon EAD or GC approval, you can renew it for longer. Although it is necessary to have a SSN. I strongly recommend to go to the DPS at S Gessner Rd and do it there. Majority of the officials are Latino and It gave me the feeling they can relate with the immigration conditions and are helpful.

We did go to the gessner location because it was recommended by a Chinese immigrant friend. And they said no we have to wait till the ead. I will see if my husband wants to try again. We should have the ead in 4 or 5 months. The biggest reason I wanted him to get the license is because there are times he has to help me with my sons and drive. Thank you for the input.

Hi everyone. We filed in October 2021, biometrics were in November, and I thought how great everything goes fast. Yet I am still waiting for EAD. I see a lot of people getting their cards, is anyone still waiting?

Hello,

Still waiting for my husband EAD and Green Card. We also filed in October 2021, Biometrics done November 12th, and still nothing. We filled to Chicago Lockbox, but our NOA say National Benefit Center. He wasn't able to get a Social Security nor Driver License, just waiting around.

Got some updates finally, Request for Initial Evidence Was Sent for both the I130 and I458, 4 pages long each  asking for most of the stuff that has been send before, resubmit the I130 and I 130A, and finical documents, taxes which was all included before. Anyone have come across this or know have any idea, how's this is even possible,

Did you get your RFE submitted? I know this must be super frustrating for you, just send them what they state in the letter and don’t forget to submit the RFE letter in the same response. If you’re able to upload to your account the RFE requested, it is received almost immediately if that helps.

I have been reading on some forums that the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. The USCIS makes mistakes and are human. It is annoying knowing you submitted all that they asked for initially, yet get this response from them. If you did/can compare what you have/will  send to them, go over it with a fine tooth comb, ensuring everything is as it should be (which is probably what you did with your initial package) Hang in there! I know this has added a delay, yet I hope not too much!

I hope this hurdle is the last you cross prior to your interview date🙏🏿

Thanks a lot the good words and positivity, means a lot. I have send the package to my lawyer, but they haven't responded yet, wanted to submit the 2021 tax as well so that took a little bit of time there. It indeed is so frustrating, from checking case status twice a day to not even want to look at the app, big difference. People are getting interview schedule left and right, and my case is totally paused😞. Hope, they will start working on my case soon.

You been so nice and spraying positivity for everyone. Thanks for doing that. I really hope and pray, you hear the good news soon..

One thing is certain, your time WILL come, we just don’t know when, we all will get to the end of this process eventually.

Hey guys. I got an RFE regarding the form for affidavit of support. They’re are asking me to send the documents for the most recent tax year with I believe it would be 2021 but my husband and I don’t know what to do because I don’t have my SSN yet and since I’m waiting for one I can’t get the ITIN. Does anyone know what to do can we file as married filing separately? Are there any other options? Thank you for the help!!

PS: the RFE is on my I-485 page, is it gonna affect my work permit or advance parole as well? Or they’re not related?

thank you!!!

How's everyone doing?

We got an update today!

03/31/2022: Interview Scheduled

Will now have to wait for the mail to get the date.

Although I don't have my EAD yet. I was hoping to get that this month or next, but if we can just get the interview then that's even better. Best of luck to all of us! There's progress and hopefully we all get approvals and schedules in the next few weeks. 😊

Hello. The RFE notification is good, that means they’re looking at your case🥳 I’m misunderstanding your query though, as the affidavit of support concerns the USC and not the immigrant spouse. What exactly does the letter state? If you can share that here and block out your personal details perhaps someone can assist. I think once the SSN has been applied yes the ITIN is not a need and filing separately is the way to go. I hope you have some answers soon and can respond promptly to the RFE.

@Raychelle congratulations to you and your husband for your interview date! How exciting😀🙏🏿

I hope everyone else is doing good👋🏿

No news on our front, so I continue to enjoy this time with my husband and family. It’s super hot here in Texas! No complaints though as I’d take this heat over cold days in Canada or London any day😄

All the best to those approaching their interview dates. It would be nice to hear from those of you who are still waiting and/or anyone else successfully getting EAD/AP.
