I can't imagine being those poor K1 applicants still waiting for an interview. Now that is agony.

Yes, it is. My heart really goes out to them.

What is going on?

You got a new extension letter for 24 month to replace the one you have for 18 months, all pending i751 applicants are getting updated extension letters for 24 months.

No change in how your i751 case is proceeding. Your fingerprints and i751 processing are unaffected. The only change is how long you have proof your LPR status past the expiration date on your conditional green card, now 24 months.

The NOA is a form letter that mentions things happening at the start of an i751 case so it will not apply to you since your case has moved along.

I noticed the processing times for I-751 have been updated.  EAC (Vermont) has improved some.  Now it is 10 - 16.5 months.  So the minimum stayed the same but the max was shortened by 4.5 months.

I also saw the following message in red pertaining to how they will now come up with the processing times:

ALERT: Starting Nov. 1, 2021, processing times will be based on 6 months of data instead of one month. You can read more about processing times on our Case Processing Times page.
