Recently?  $15 for (men's) dress loafers, at a Sears liquidation.

 

Traditionally?  <$15 (usually <$10) for dress loafers at estate sales.  Very high-quality stuff available at some estate sales.  Of 9 of my black pairs and 8 of my brown pairs, 3 pairs were store-bought.  I never plan to pay full retail for shoes again.

Back in my pre-frugal days, I paid USD 100 for a pair of nice heels. Never again.

 

When I moved to the States and had to rebuild my wardrobe from scratch, I found lots of gently used, high quality shoes from my local Buy Nothing group (free) and Plato's Closet (deeply discounted for $10 a pair).

I think the most I've ever spent is an amount that is too embarrassing to type here, but they were for a pair of Manolo Blahniks that I wore precisely two times because they hurt so much.

 

I do like nice shoes, and there's no shame in it. However, I have been buying more frequently via TheRealReal, which is also great for gently used handbags and clothing. The other month a bought a pair of hot pink Jimmy Choos for a special occasion which look like they had been worn a grand total of one time from the wear on the soles. Otherwise they were brand new. I paid under $150 for a pair that was originally about $700. 

 

I also frequently check Saks Off Fifth and Nordstrom Rack for discounted designer shoes. I'm going through a flats phase at the moment and just picked up a pair of super cute Kate Spade ballet flats, down from $138 to $80. 

 

Buy what you like in a budget that suits and buy quality over quantity. Bargains are only a bargain if the item itself is going to last a long time and you'll actually wear it.

I am on my feet for 10+ hours at work, so I need good shoes.   $100-150, but sometimes I get lucky and find them for less on Amazon.  I usually go through around 1.5 pairs/year.
