Waiting for an appointment or scheduling through USTravelDocs

Hi,

 

We received document approval to move on to an interview. The emails said:

 

"NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in PORT AU PRINCE, HAT to schedule an interview appointment for you."

 

But I see folks scheduling things through USTravelDocs. Is that what I should be doing or is it waiting for them to contact me?

Since you are a I-130 filer the NVC will schedule the appointment when the consulate has appointment slots for CR1/IR1.   K Visas self schedule.

Thank you, that makes sense! Is there a sense of what the timeframe is for receiving an appointment slot, in terms of wait? The internet has not been super helpful.

Go in to your Visa Journey Timeline and correct your consulate.   Then you can click on 'check similar timelines" and see how you compare to other members.
