Sad thing is the people he was calling out are the ones that should be in jail.

Yes but I got a little mixed emotions about this one. He was spot on but.... He should have resigned his commission 1st

Maybe. But unless he disobeyed a lawful order or encouraged others to do so I don't think he should be jailed.

I think jail is a bit extreme and makes him more of Martyr. He was given a lawful order to cease and did not. As much as I agree with him, you can't have a military in which people get to choose which lawful orders to obey.

Example Lt William Calley argued he was following orders. He was convicted because massacaring innocent civilians is not a lawful order.  I know its a sticky situation.

We devoted a good bit of time in Officer training to this subject.

I was unaware he disobeyed a lawful order. Still jail is a bit extreme and we both know this is politically motivated.

Of course I agree.  Yes I read in the article he was given an order to stop and warned several times. He knew what he was facing.

Under article 92 of the UCMJ he can be confined for 6 months and be given a BCD forfeit pay also if I remember correctly.

It's a lose lose for both sides. He should have resigned his commission before starting his crusade.

If you remember the 2 enlisted marines in a few good men. After the colonel admitted he gave the order, most charges were dropped but they still got conduct unbecoming and were given BCDs

As always, it is a relief to be a superior primate and to laugh at the hierarchical antics of mere humans.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

He didn't.  He simply spoke out against the toxic and failed leadership above him, publicly.  Didn't perjure himself like Alex Vindmann did, but he's paying the ultimate price for maintaining his integrity.

Vindmann for should have been nailed to a cross. What he did was 10x worse. Tried to unseat the President by sharing classified info. A light bird at that. Not a high level position at all.

I was in the service when the O North thing went down. He was a scapegoat. No Lt. Col in the world has that much power

Didn't just share classified info, he LIED about it, trying to damage the president.  SHOULD have lost his retirement and spent some years in Ft. Leavenworth.
