I-130 submited online finally. Receipt came from Texas service center, the emma agent says it is at Vermont service center. I pray to God his mistaken.

I-130's get balance adjusted to spreadout the workload across the service centers.

For instance, my I-130 was at Texas when Potomac was 2-3 months quicker.  But we got our petition approved faster than those in our case tracking group who "luckily" got processed at Potomac.

The best way to keep track of your progress is to join the case tracking group for your month.  That way you guys can keep tabs on when the approvals start going out.

IS their online processing time  accurate? it says something like 23-36 months or something. Not sure how that would be workload balancing as it seems like a slow post

Mine did the same thing. Places at Texas June 2020 and transferred to VT Jan of this year. No explanation, but for our approval about a week ago

Oh awesome. That is encouraging. I feel like the VT processing time online is inaccurate. After reading online it seems cases few months ago were moved to VT form different locations and got processed very quick. Seems for us it went like straight away from day one to VT so will see

Hi I am in a similar position.

Our lawyer filed i130 through Arizona AZ Lockbox for my husband who is in the UK 15th Sept. We received notice dated 18th Sept.

The receipt number starts with IOE which is as far as I understand means it is being processed online. The bottom of the notices says the USCIS office is California. How do I find out exactly where it is being processed and what the processing times are? I have tried to ring UCSIS but no luck there. What option did you select to speak to Emma?

Does anyone's receipt begin with IOE and can you confirm that your receipt number is the first 3 letters are your service centre?

Many thanks, I have posted in the Sept group also which this thread helped me find but posting the question here also as i am really hoping our case isnt at California with 24.5 - 32 weeks processing.

If you chat with emma and ask to speak with a live agent, they should tell you where it is being processed. The processing center should be at the bottom of your online receipt but it seems like it is not always accurate. Seems like they tend to shuffle cases around.

I am going to throw out a wild guess:

California and Vermont deal with K1's.  I think there are less K1 submittals nowadays than before.  Partially because of news of the backlog and embassies that didn't process K1's in 2020, and partially because of the travel bans people could not meet physically and therefore cannot submit K1.

Therefore, the I-130s are being load shared with CSC and VSC.

The processing times are the running average for multiple years.   Years ago the 20-30 months were the processing times there because they only took on I-130s when it overloaded the other centers.  The faster processing times for this year will not affect the average until enough cases are processed through those centers.

oh that is a good insight. I did not know it is a multiple years average. It is kinda makes sense cause seems like from people in this forums who has been assigned to VT recently are being processed in few months.
