Very fast NOA / Biometrics response to AOS filing - how to interpret?

Hi all,

 

I filed for AOS/EAD/AP from a K-1 visa 14 days ago, and I have already received NOA receipt notices in the mail and had a biometrics appointment scheduled. This seems to be significantly faster than earlier in the year when people were waiting months just for a NOA, and many others who filed recently are reporting similar quick timeframes.

 

My question is how to interpret this - does this indicate USCIS processing is speeding up, and therefore should I expect my EAD/AP to come quicker than the 8+ months timeline experienced by many over the last 18 months? Or is that too hopeful on my end?

Yes, Newark filers are getting faster NOa1 and bio than most of other states. But what I read is waiting time for EAD and AP is same ( 8 to 9 ) months...yes you can hope to be quicker..

You can always hope but don't plan with it or get disappointed when it doesn't happen. Good luck tho.

Some field offices seem to get moving faster than other.

I also got the notices and biometrics fast but I don’t think it’s a sign of faster processing. They’re giving IOE receipts which means electronic filing which explains fast NOAs and all but I don’t think it goes further than that. NBC which processes EAD/AP has the same processing time as before on USCIS.gov and so do the local field offices. I guess I’m keeping my expectations low to not get disappointed.
