This will be a much longer road for the Chinese, than it was for the South Koreans.

What about when the Chinese car comes labelled "Buick". The latest Buicks are being designed and built in China. Its only a matter of time before they start selling Chinese built/designed ones in the USA IMHO.

It is the only way they can get around union contracts.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I have always bought American brand cars and have always had good luck with them. I now have a 2002 Malibu and I love it!! It's big enough to be comfortable and it gets good gas mileage.

American cars are #######.

Not in my experience. Over the last 30 years American cars are all I ever had. They are reliable and long lived. You can keep your rice burners. Give me Detroit iron any day.

Except fewer and fewer cars are being built in Michigan anymore... Most of them are now being built in Mexico... Michigan unemployment is the highest of any other state by .9%...

The Ford I looked at was assembled in Mexico. My Hyundai was assembled in the USA.

You experience is not one to take seriously then. If you've never owned anything other than American cars, how can you compare? I currently own two cars, one Japanese (but built in Ohio!) and one American, and know which I'll be buying in the future.
