NEED HELP!! asking for a friend who is trying to apply N400

Hello!

 

This question is not for me and wife. A friend of ours came here as IR-1 visa with 2 kids (1 is 17 years old and 11 years old). Now she’s planning to apply the N400 but there’s a problem she’s been separated with her husband a year after she got here. So what she needs to do to apply the citizenship??? Please please help.

She can apply for citizenship after 5 years of continued residency in the US.  She cannot apply under the 3 year rule, which is for only those who have remained married to their USC spouse.
