looking under US embassy in Cairo it says:

  • The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return with any relevant W-2s. If you are using a joint sponsor, who filed a joint tax return with his or her spouse, the spouse must also complete Form I-864A.

there is a list there of needed documents (plus any the embassy says is missing from your case) in the appointment letter u recd)

Hello all... at the time of the interview,  must one take the original IRS tax returns? Or can't they be photo copies?

Thanks in advance

Original IRS tax returns are sent to the IRS.  So only copies could exist in the possession of the taxpayer.

Hi

My husband just had his interview he took copy’s of tax transcript with him. The only thing he had original was Form I-864 Affidavit of Support. But honestly he wasn’t asked for any of it because I uploaded everything even updated versions to the CEAC system before his interview.

I updated it after they scheduled my interview. It will say submitted even when they see it. I noticed a change in the date case was opened on the CEAC status check a couple of days after I submitted the new stuff so I assumed that they received everything I submitted. But like mentioned before don’t worry if it doesn’t change from submitted because they’re not going to change it.
