Joint financial evidence for interview.

We've been married 12 years but don't have much in the way of joint finances.  I've never seen much benefit to it and setting it up can be a pain.  She doesn't have a SSAN yet so my bank won't add her. She has a couple of my credit cards but her name isn't on the account,  bills just list her charges.  The biggest thing we're joint on is our land titles but that's in the Philippines and I wonder if it's really a good idea to show foreign property interest when trying to immigrate.

Here are some ideas:

Bank accounts

- some banks do add joint users without SSN. My husband's regional bank did this for me. He just needed to talk to his relationship manager.

- Bank of America apparently lets people open bank accounts with just a passport and a tourist visa.

Credit cards

- I'm an authorized user on my husband's cards, and only his name shows up on the monthly statements, BUT both our names showed up in the initial letter containing our new physical credit cards. I kept a scanned copy for our AOS packet. You can also compare your and your wife's cards: do they have the exact same account numbers, like ours do? If yes, that's pretty good evidence.

Land titles

- this is pretty good evidence, in my opinion. It's normal for married couples to have foreign real estate holdings if they've lived abroad as long as you have.
