My wife is on-call next Sunday night, so she'll be beat, and I don't know how much energy she'll have to get there at 3am for her Monday interview at 7:30. I keep reading about people showing up at the embassy at 3:30 for 8:30 interviews. What happens if she shows up at 7:30 for her 7:30 interview?

It is advised that she should be at the embassy 2 hours before her interview schedule. What does your fiancee do? Maybe she can ask somebody to fill in for her on Sunday so she will have the Sunday off and be early and fresh during her interview the following day. Work schedule can be adjusted but the isnterview date is already there so I guess give the interview day a priority.

Goodluck!!!

Claudeth got to the embassy at about 5:30am. I think her letter was for 7:00am and when they called that time she was able to get in.

In my opinion, showing up at 3:30 or even 5:30 for the 7:30 interview is bunk. Starting at around 7:00 I believe they will call for all in the 7:30 time-slots to go forward into the embassy for their interview ordeal. If the security guards only allow people through the gates based upon their interview time, it seems stupid to be there too early. My gal had a 7:30 interview, and arrived at the embassy at 6:45 (even later, knowing her).

My girl kinda sounds like BJZags. she'll be late if she can, So the question stil remains what does happen if you arrive at 7:30 for a &:30. Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I think spouse is much different than fiance or even Newlyweds. They have the luxury of excitement; marriage is war. lol

I wouldn't advice arriving at 7:30 for a 7:30 interview. Give a little allowance, 7am is fine. The guards will not let people in anyway before the scheduled interview time.

Btw, good luck on the interview!

Mylene went for her interview on Monday morning .. the guard started letting in the 6:30 a.m. appointments at 5:00 a.m. .. Mylene's interview appointment was at 7:30 a.m. and the guard called them to get in line outside the embassy just before 7:00 a.m. .. the guard looks at your appointment letter and valid ID and then he lets you go inside (you have to scan / x-ray your belongings) and it only took a few minutes to get inside and get seated after lining up.

Mylene said that your fiancee will be ok .. Show the guard the appointment letter and valid ID and she will get inside. If the window accepting the DS forms is already closed then she needs to ask the guard inside if she should go to window X or Y to turn in her forms.

Mylene was given the tip of putting the DS forms in order ..

1.) Appointment Letter on top

2.) DS-156k filled out

3.) DS-156 that was filled out online (with barcode and picture glued) 3 pages

4.) DS-157 with the bank validated copy, filled up (remove the stapled paper from the form and keep it)

5.) Second copy DS-156 filled out online (with barcode and picture glued) 3 pages

6.) Second copy DS-157 not validated copy

She put the forms in this order before going to the window and there was no delay at all, they just gave her a number .. others were taking a long time if their documents were not in that exact order.

good luck with the interview ..
