Hi guys,  my wife has a specific name that she uses in all her official documents, but people call her or refer to her by some names called in love, and she uses one of those names as her email ID as well & on her social media accounts too (but they aren't mentioned in the official documents). Should we mention those names too? Or will the official name only will do?

Afaik it only counts for aliases. Such as, if you are called Richard but told your employee your name is D1ck (Apperantly that's an offensive word?) and have that on all your work documents. Or if you are for example a performer, such as rapper "Eminem", who's real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. In that case, you would note down your alias as "Eminem".

But we see the place for "Aliases" there, what are we supposed to write in it? 🧐

Nothing if you don't have an alias. The post above gives examples of aliases. I myself would not consider Honey Bee to be my alias)))

Only names used in official documents. They are checking identity to see past affiliations, etc.

My mom calls me “dworf”. I didn’t put that, especially because I’m very tall and there would be a mismatch. My friends call me a short name for my name. My hubby calls me “babe”, and my students call me Mrs xxx. Not relevant to USCIS.

I would put anything like a nickname that shows up in places like social media accounts.

I had a friend who went by a different name socially (she went by Nani) but had no documents associated with that name - still put it in as another name.

Screen names are not typically required to be mentioned.  For instance, I did not put "SteveinBostonI130" as an alias..on my I-130.  Also I did not put "Lonewolf", which is one of my screen names on a gaming account.

I didn't even list "Steve".  In grade school (1st or 2nd, not sure) my teacher asked if I prefered Stephen or Steve.  I said Steve, but when she wrote it down it bothered me (seeing it written down).  So I asked her to refer to me as Stephen.  All my documents show "Stephen".

No one ever verbally calls me "Stephen" or "Steven", they call me "Steve".  Sometimes my sister calls me "Stephen" when I'm in trouble, like calling her old....
