Hello Everyone,

If you want to save on domestic flights for the upcoming medical and interviews dates of your love ones, don't forget to enroll in PAL Mabuhay Miles. You can do it online?, or your girl can do it for you. I did the same. Since my husband used PAL (LAX-MNL) in his last trip , I enrolled him ?days before his trip. The mileage incurred for his LAX-MNL-LAX (about 15,000+miles) route is enough to get me one round-trip ticket. Now, I used his mileage in booking my round-trip tickets from Mindanao for free. Yes, it is possible to name the reward ticket to another person without hassles. Well, of course, I had to pay the travel tax. As for me, it's only 2,349.00pesos (CDO-MNL-CDO round-trip tax). The online regular fare is about 7,836.00pesos one-way only, so we save around 13,323.00pesos Cool, right?. FYI. Since he had no card yet that time (during his flight), I just did a retroactive crediting of miles with PAL. It works. The forms are attached here.

The text in bold in the mileage. To verify, you can check your account online. As for the reward tickets, the mileage varies. Like for me, I will board in CDO airport, and it needs 6,500 miles one-way (same as Davao). Cebu is about 4,000 miles.

Thanks

I agree - Mabuhay Miles and Philippine airlines is great. I cant stay away from Philippines and have flown 5 times over the last year (I'm not rich - my credit card company loves me!). I am going in September for free (4 LAX to Manila trips = 1 free one) and have 3/4 of my next ticket paid for when I go with Weng for the interview hopefully in December :) since once you fly a few times they give you bonus miles (one LAX to manila trip = 25,000 miles then)

The other cool thing is - since I qualified for Premier Elite membership I have been upgraded to first class for free on 3 of my flights so far. I never could have afforded that otherwise - its nice to get a good rest when you have to work the next day!

I was checking on Travelocity and since flights have gone up so much this last year - Philippine Airlines is there with the cheapest ones too.
