How long NVC process will take in reality

Hi everyone,

We’ve just received an email from USCIS which says our case is approved. I’m wondering how long the NVC process will take considering  possible RFEs and everything. This is really crucial for us to know cause we live in Turkey together and tomorrow we’re going to sign a new contract to change our house and it will be for a year, so we wanted to know if NVC might take a few months (Google says 2.5  months) then we don’t move out from our current apartment. Thanks for you help in advance

Even after NVC approves, you will be having to wait for papers to be send to your respective embassy/consulate, for you to have a interview and receive everything back. Realistically I'd count on a 3-4 month wait period at the very least.

Has the USC already gotten the IRS transcripts to be able to scan into CEAC site and have originals for the interview?

If not,  getting these will take time

USC also has to have proof of US residency and a US income when he/she returns to USA

How long will NVC take?

how fast can the 2 of u pay the 2 fees and submit all supporting documents as needed?   I don't need to know but u can figure this out

and at this time ,  Turkey is still doing limited interviews,  so its going to be some time

go to the portal for Turkey (hit the word portal above )  and read posts from other members and check their timelines

if you've just received approval from USCIS then you probably still have a long road ahead. Generally speaking if you are applying for a CR1/IR1 using the usual process the stages will be:

-Receive USCIS Approval Notification

-wait for access to CEAC portal & pay fees  - 5-14days approx..

-gather all civil document for beneficiary and complete DS-260 application   - timescale dependent on yourself

-gather all documents for AOS and proof of domicile, if the petitioner lives outside of the US you will probably need to find a joint sponsor - timescale dependent on yourself

-submit document to NVC and wait for review - 2 months approx..

-if you get a RFE you will need to re-submit and wait for NVC review again - 2 months approx. more if you get RFE again

-once you get documentarily qualified from NVC you will then need to wait for an interview date at your consulate - 1 month -1 year+ time dependant on local consulate (searching forum will tell you what the time scale looks like for your location)

-interview ....

that is a very rough timeline, as you can see much of it depends on the different factors at each stage so hard to give you a realistic timescale, all I would say is it's unlikely to be quick.
