Renewing Child's Passport At U.S. Embassy Manila

Unfortunately renewing a child's passport requires a personal appearance for both parents and the child.  My 5 year olds passport expires in February so I am thinking about going to the Embassy during December school break, but I am not yet certain on the dates.

I'm hoping some of you Manilanites (??) can give me some advice.....

1.  What is the best parking near the Embassy, if I decide on a day trip.

2.  For overnight stay, what are some walking distance hotels near the embassy that have parking?

3.  Looking at the Embassy passport appointment system, it appears that they only book for the following week, so I can only see 4 days next week available.  Is this always like this?

4. For the 4 days mentioned, it appears all appointments are early morning, 0730 to 0830.  No other times available?

I'm hoping that we can turn it into a 2 night staycation if conditions allow, so I might stay a bit farther away and take a taxi / grab to the embassy.

Thanks in advance!

There are many hotels nearby USEM. Not sure of their status post-COVID. Here are a few of the ones I've stayed in:

Casa Bocobo - Decent price, good breakfast included

Hotel Soriente - Lower price, good location, has (limited) free parking

City Garden Suites - Decent price, good breakfast

Some others: Red Planet Manila Bay, Bayview Park Hotel

If you want luxury: Hotel H2O, Rizal Park Hotel Manila

These can easily be found on http://maps.google.com

These are just some of the ones near the US Embassy. There are many, many others. Depends on your personal taste. My favorite is the Soriente. Cheap, cool rooms, nice staff, free parking, stores and street food just downstairs, Robinsons Mall and USEM 6-8 minutes walk in either direction, lots of restaurants along UN Avenue, walking distance to the LRT and Rizal Park. Some of the others may also have parking, but of course it may cost you.

Hotel H2O

Before Covid, we had been thinking about booking at H2O and you could find some decent prices.  I will keep an eye on that.  The key is, will they allow kids??  If I recall correctly, they have plenty of parking there because of the aquarium.  The aquarium is currently closed.  It would be a quick cab ride to the embassy.
