Hey everyone,

My k1 visa got approved and the passport stayed with the embassy and they said they will print the visa. For two month the Ceac stayed non-immigrant application received.

Today
When i check my case number under immigrants , it shows :”immigrant application” “refused” with the long text.  *not the actual refuse btw”

when i check the case number under the non immigrant with the 160-DS number ,it shows: “non-immigrant” “application received”.

what does that mean? , and why does it show two different status? Did this happen to anyone before?

thanks!

Perhaps you can post a screenshot of the actual "Refused" screen.  It sounds like it is some sort of administrative processing which is normal.  Visas are actually approved after all administrative processing is complete, regardless of what the officer says.  Your real indication of approval will be when the status changes to "Issued".  Hopefully, that will be soon.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

This question comes up about once every 10 days) Refused is an interim status. It doesn't mean refused. Why DOS chose this verbiage a year or two ago no one knows.

Finally done...

Hey carpe vinum, my worry isnt really the “refused” status cos i know its not an actual refuse, but my confusion is why does it show two different status at the same time: Immigrant refused & non immigrant application received? Isnt a bit weird?

It will reconcile within a few days. K1 switches from non-immigrant to immigrant in the ceac system during the process. That is why the non-immigrant status is stuck as application received. That process is finished. You are looking for the refused to change to issued then you are good to go.
