Incorrect:  This would be done inside the USA and outside Philippines jurisdictions

This is for Inheritance rights first and foremost.

Yup .. IN the USA.  Not .. the Philippines ... so as said .. THE PHILIPPINES WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE ADOPTION .. thus the adult would not be recognized as a Philippines citizen.

Not rocket science.   USA/Texas law does not apply in the Philippines.

Do you have a case where the Philippines court has said they will not recognize the adoption?

Do you have a case where the Philippines recognize an adult adoption for the purposes that you want?

I have no dog in the fight, It not my deal.  I just don't think anyone has tried it in the Philippines.

They are all about official document in the Philippines, so you have something official or with a seal or stamp they tend to observe it and respect it

Nope can't quote a case, don't need to, under 16 is the magic number for adoption in the Philippines .. think I posted a link with that info from a Philippine government website.

Best way to get this answered is for your friend to take it all to the Philippines and see if the Philippine government accepts adoptions over the age of 16 ..  ;)

~ bye

If you remember it was golden rule on VisaJourney Philippines Section that you couldn't do an adoption from the Philippines unless you resided with the adoptee for like 3 years, and then a few months ago a poster did a international adoption and never lived with the adoptee.

As of now they are residing in the Philippines for the last 3 years,  He is retired and he put his wife into Law School to become a lawyer she is in her 3rd year, with one more year to go.  He is gonna let her become the bread winner once she gets her bar card or that is his claim.

Yup.

I read that the Philippines joined the Hague Agreement allowing for international adoptions.
