notice of approval yet case status says something else

Hi everyone,

I'm a little confused, on my case file status it says actively reviewing, and in the case history it also says the same.

However in the documents section we have a letter of I-130 approval.

My question is whats the latest position, should we go by the letter of approval we have received or the actively reviewing notification in the status section.

I have included pictures below

Thanks!1973934529_ScreenShot2021-09-19at08_14_54.thumb.png.cd2cd5582d27ecb0127af9fce8723e82.png

This happened to me as well! The approval letter was in my documents on a Friday and by Monday it was updated in the case status section. If the letter is approved you are approved. Congratulations!

Thanks!  I guess we just wait for notice from NVC. Do you know how long it takes?

As a rule, is it better to go by the letter that is in the document section, instead of the case status ( since the 2 are conflicting)?

I say the letter In think it’s obvious that the system has to catch up and update the status on its own. It probably only updates once a day.  We should be getting a copy of the letter in the mail in the next week or so.

Yes go by the letter! Especially since you can't love forward until NVC contacts you. They contacted me a week after my approval! Good luck to you both and so excited to see your cases moving along :)

OP and all watching case status in USCIS ,  don't be surprised if suddenly there it says something similiar to "case not found"

when USCIS  sends the case on to NVC ,  it  will no longer be in that system

when u get the NVC case # (can be as long as 2 months to get the notice from NVC),  u can go to CEAC to follow case status

here both K1 and CR1 can be checked under immigrant category (no idea why as other places its nonimmigrant)

yep,  i posted that because it totally is confusing if u are not prepared

NVC now will assign the new case # with the 3 letters for each embassy and then the year it transferred

example casabalnca for us is CSB

so ours was CSB2014xxxx

You’re definitely approved. Congrats!

It took us 4 days to hear from NVC (July 2021). Our status never changed to “case not found” on the USCIS website though, just says “case was forwarded to the department of state” (=NVC) now.
