Marriage before N400 interview

Hey guys, Please I would appreciate any input. Would getting married affect my upcoming citizenship interview? My interview is coming up soon but my wedding is 2 weeks before the interview. It’s a 5 years rule citizenship. Thanks for any response in advance.

No. Just inform them so that your naturalization certificate is accurate: "Marital status"

That marital status should not be there...what if you divorce, do you apply for a new certificate ?

It's no problem. They'll ask you during the interview if anything on your application has changed since you submitted. Just tell them, yes, you've since been married. They'll update it in their system and it will be reflected on your naturalization certificate. Note, they may ask to to see your marriage certificate so take it along.

It is annoying and irrelevant imho but alas that is policy if not the law.

To me it does not make sense. That certificate is a personal one, like your driving license. You don't see your marital status on the DL. Married, unmarried, divorced, widower...
