I apologise if this is in the wrong forum. My husband went through the AOS process after arriving in the US in Feb or March of 2020 (very lucky to have gotten in before lockdown ). With 2022 approaching, we are thinking about next year's condition removal process.

His Japanese passport is now expired and normally their embassy makes a stop in our state for people abroad to renew. Because of COVID, that is not happening. He would have to physically pick up at embassy or consulate.

I'm assuming it is, but does his passport need to be current for interview next year? With snow possible from late October it may be a rough drive.

Probably man more details than necessary, just looking for insight so everything goes smoothly.
