K1 Interview Confirmation - Incorrect personal details

Hi Everyone,

 

Just noticed on the K1 interview confirmation that my passport number is incorrect by a single number (e.g. should be 5 instead of 6). To reschedule/schedule the K1 interview for my country, the booking platform is separate and not maintained by the US consulate.

 

I've since written in to the support team for the platform to update to the correct passport number, and was advised they cannot update this since "you have claimed the receipt of your MRV fees payment in your profile to proceed with appointment scheduling online." I have not consulted with the consulate yet for fear I will be pushed back to the end of line, rendering current 129F petition to lapse/expire. The interview is next week, and details on DS-160 and other forms are correct. Will this typo error prevent me from entering the US consulate, or impede the CO from approving the K1 application day of the interview? Any advise is appreciated, TIA! 🙂

From what I recall, you can fill another DS-160, bring it to the interview and inform the interviewing agent about the passport number typo.

They would update the info then and attach your case to the more recent DS-160.
