Hello,

im hoping someone can help. My husband and I are submitting his ROC next month so that’s exciting but we had a question about traveling. Next Christmas 2022 his parents want us to come visit over the holidays. He has a UK passport and his green card. Does he need to apply for a visa to travel back to his home in the UK??

thank you

Why would he need a visa to enter the UK when he's already a UK citizen? He doesn't.

No.......and he can use his expired green card and the 24 month extension letter to re-enter the US when you return if his I-751 is still pending..

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Once he submits the I-751 package, USCIS will automatically send him an extension letter which extends the expiration date on his Green Card for 24 months.

He enters on his UK passport and you can go with him through the short line for UK citizens. You don’t have to get in the “visitor” line with the Americans.
