Hi Diana,

I thing that's it. You don't need to submit anything else by mail (I thought I had to as well). Just do the DS-160 and follow the instructions you'll get from the embassy by email. If I were you, I'd reschedule the doctor's appointment. We never know what will happen after Christmas with Covid.

I still don't have my passport or visa. I needed to get the flu and tetanus shots (they're both mandatory, the flu every winter, the tetanus every 10 years). I'm betting I'll get it all at the end of January or beginning of February.

Hey Rita,

Thank you for being so helpful and always responding so fast.

Oh wow, I had no idea that the flu shot was a requirement, I have actually never taken the flu shot. That's pretty crazy how they're holding on to the passport and visa issue for so long, I'm guessing it is because of these vaccine requirements // did you find out about this when you went to get your medical?

I should probably start booking that flu shot for myself then.

So regarding the documents (birth certificate, police statement, petitioner's financials), you only had to present it at the interview or you had to submit them before?

End of January is pretty late considering your interview was in November. I'm really sorry to hear this.

Sorry about the delay, but yes—you only have to show those documents at the embassy interview. Before I think we were supposed to mail them somewhere, but not anymore.

My case was finally forwarded back to the embassy, after doing my medical and showing proof of tetanus and flu vaccines. Now I'm guessing it will take 2-4 weeks until I get my passport with visa back. Hoping I can leave by mid-March 🙂

Happy holidays!

Rita

Hey Rita,

Happy new yearrr, definitely hoping 2022 is a better one and we all get to be in the USA heheh

I was wondering how I could pay the visa fees, does that info come with the eventual embassy letter / email I'll get? Or we need to find it out on our own before the interview?

Thank you, and sorry to bother you — you have been of so muuuch help!

When you get your visa interview date, you'll be asked to pay online. It will all be in the email you'll get from the embassy. 🙂

Best,

Rita
