I came to the US in March 2020 on a K-1 visa.I filed for AOS in august 2020 and had my interview 2 weeks ago.I just received an RFE for form I-693.I completed my medicals in my home country in Feb 2020 and I understood I didn’t need further medicals done if I filed the AOS within a year from the date I did the medicals...I didn’t submit forms I-693 with my AOS package, neither did I take it with me to the interview as I assumed the USCIS had it already in my file from the POE....The IO didn’t ask me about it either during the interview.Did anyone go through the same experience and can anyone please help

advise me on what to do?Do I need to do a complete Medicals?Thank you.

immigration wants a new medical ,  u get one / its been well over a year since the one in your country

sometimes they want another and sometimes not

but an annual physical is always a good idea

Did you complete your vaccinations abroad?

Is your DS3025 marked as complete?

(You SHOULD have provided a photocopy of your personal copy of the DS3025 with your I485 and brought your personal copy plus a photocopy to the interview).

If yes to both, did you present a photocopy of your DS3025 at your interview reminding the IO that you are exempt from I693?

Did you provide the IO with a printout of the policy manual explaining that?

If no to both, you can do two things:

1. Contact them by the method on your RFE reminding them.

2. Make an infopass and ask to see your IO again to explain.

Not all IOs understand the K1 exemption.

Sometimes they lose your medical forms, and send an RFE for another one. A K-1 doesn't require a new medical if the DS-3025 was marked complete and you file for AOS within a year of your medical. However, you can receive an RFE before, during or after the interview, and will need to get what they are asking of you. Not unheard of at all. Unfortunately, sometimes paperwork goes missing between your port of entry and the USCIS.
