My fiance and I would like to get married so that we can file for the CR1.  Research shows me that different states in Mexico require different things.  He lives in Mexico City.  Does anyone know the requirements for getting married in MEXICO CITY? Or if you know of a state in Mexico that requires less than others, we are open to that too?  TIA

I got marriend in Cancun, Quintana Roo. I found it really easy, as it is a wedding destination, you can just check with a Hotel and they do everything for you, just need to be there 2 days before.

Did you have to get a blood test done and what documents were required?  Thanks

Oh and what about witnesses?  I've heard two and then I heard four are needed?

Yes blood test, yes two witnesses for bride and groom each (so total of four).

I also got married in Mexico, I am linking my post.

Time requirements:

Bride and Groom must be in Mexico 3 business days before wedding. Arrival day and wedding day don’t count.
Bride and Groom must both be divorced for at least a year. We have both never been previously married so this didn’t apply to us.

Documents needed:

- Tourist cards (they give you these on the plane to Mexico. Don’t lose them!)

- Copies of both passports

- Blood test. They did this at the resort. I felt very safe and it wasn’t sketchy or anything in case someone is worried about that. They test your blood for STDs and HIV Etc.
- Witnesses. There must be 4 witnesses who have also been in Mexico for 3 business days. However, the resort can provide these for you. Some do it free of cost and others do it for like 25-50 dollars per person.
what you DONT need: apostille birth certificates. It says online you need this and I was freaking out because I wasn’t sure my husband could get this from his hometown. We didn’t end up needing it.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁
