Consulate in HCMC

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has heard any news about the US consulate reopening in Ho Chi Minh city or if anyone had any luck getting an interview date in the past couple of months. It has been closed for about 3 months now and really hoping to hear some good news. I'm in the CR-1 category if that matters. Good day all!

I'm sure you already know this by now since it's December 19th.......but yes, they are again working (if you want to call it that)

 

We are K1 visa............trying to actually schedule an interview date is about impossible. The system they have in place is like a lottery, and they have it rigged against you from the start. We have spent months just trying to schedule a date......what a waste of time. It's like they would like you to go away and give up now that you have paid all the fees. They don't care either way.......and they certainly won't help you.

 

I see why people come to the USA illegally,

Doesn’t the NVC schedule an interview on your behalf? Or is the K1 process different from CR1/IR1?

I believe that the government will setup your interview date if you are going after the CR1 visa.........if you are using the K1 visa, your fiance' will have to log into the system and try and schedule her appointment date. Good luck with that, it might take months to find an open date if you are lucky........you would have better luck winning the lottery.

 

We have been trying to setup an interview date for 2.5 months now without any luck........and forget about the consulate helping you, they will not.
