COVID Vaccine Proponents Need to Remember the Thalidomide Tragedy

by Shawn Waugh - September 12, 2021

[...] Should Everyone Get The Jab?

Is this good practice?  We just do not have enough data to say that it is.  But most likely it is not.  A mainstay in the practice of medicine is assessing the risks versus the benefits.  If the risks of taking a medicine or of having a procedure outweigh the benefits then the general consensus is to not move forward with treatment.  This basic linchpin of medicine has been lost in the sauce of the COVID-19 debate.  [...]

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Somehow this author forgot to mention that COVID-19 disease in pregnant people is associated with significantly higher risk of many conditions including maternal mortality, preeclampsia, and preterm birth.

Thalidomide story had changed the regulatory landscape in so many aspects including the clinical trials design and reporting laws. Clinical research is conducted with all these laws and regulations in mind. So yeah, I don't think anybody forgot thalidomide.

Science is not a liberal conspiracy.

The first polio vaccine actually caused polio.

Let’s not ignore his misinformation:

“Keep in mind that there are now countless millions of individuals who have contracted COVID-19 and survived. Those individuals will now have a natural immunity that does not require vaccination and appears to be superior to it. “

The above opinion is not backed by any study and completely contradicted by Israel real population examples.

“Have the vaccines shown efficacy in stopping COVID-19?

Stopping, no. Diminishing symptoms and hospitalizations, yes. As someone who is actively treating hospitalized COVID-19 patients, I cannot deny that a majority of those currently admitted are unvaccinated. This is a fact.”

I kind of liked that part, he mixes fact with more fiction…

I don’t recall anyone PROMISING the vaccine would eradicate COVID- I - recall that the push was to lessen hospitalization.

You're right, it's NOT backed by any study.  Well, except the study of humans and their natural immunity to ALL diseases such as covid for the past 1,000 years.

Yes, natural immunity happens.  Yes, it is far more effective than ANY man-made drug.

Here's some more facts about polio, for those who think it has been eradicated.

Quote

Although as much as 95 percent of polio infections are asymptomatic, people are infectious even without displaying symptoms. Symptoms of a polio infection can include fever, vomiting, back and neck pain, and muscle weakness. Referred to as nonparalytic polio, this type of polio infection can last up to 10 days and most people are able to recover completely. There also exists a milder form, known as abortive polio, where symptoms are so mild that they may be mistaken for the flu. These types of polio account for around 4-8 percent of infections.

Quote

However, up to 2 percent of polio cases result in paralytic polio, which results in paralysis in the brainstem, spinal cord, or both. According to the WHO, among those with paralytic polio 5-10 percent die as a result of immobilized breathing muscles.

That's 2% of POLIO CASES, not 2% of the population.

Also, covid is here to stay.  As in forever.  Just like the cold, the flu, etc.  We will all eventually get it.  And most of us (~98% or more) will survive.

Not too many people remember this.  But I am old enough to do so.  In fact, I refused to vaccinate my children while this was the norm.  Later, when the vaccine was changed, and the risk reduced by about 95%, I allowed my kids to be vaccinated.   #winning

Wow!

I guess natural immunity failed these folks!

Coronavirus Death Toll

4,652,269 deaths

4,652,269 people have died so far from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as of September 14, 2021, 02:57 GMT.

Wait!

Let me get John Hopkins counter :

TOTAL DEATHS

4,638,578

Or are there counters also not significant to you?

Or should we shrug and say: Oh well, that’s life? These humans just did not have that good old natural immunity.

7,789,304,500 have survived covid.

The number you quote is inflated, though by how much, we will never know.  But even using your inflated numerator, 4,638,578 / 7,789,304,500 is... 0.0596% of the world's population.  1 in 1,679 deaths are covid (using the monetarily-inflated published covid numbers).  The true number is way lower, but who knows?  1 in 2,000?  1 in 3,000?  1 in 5,000?

Meanwhile, here are some deaths from other causes, putting covid at around #14.

https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/all-injuries/preventable-death-overview/odds-of-dying/

People die every day, from hundreds of causes.  Why are we focusing on covid?  Is it significant?  What about AIDS?  What about cancer?  What about heart disease?  What about... OBESITY?  Opioid death?  MVA?

Here’s another one to add:

More kids were shot in Chicago than have died from COVID-19 nationwide

According to the American Medical Association

“With approximately 40,000 Americans dying from firearm-related injuries each year in the United States, we need bold action to confront this public health crisis. Most of these deaths are preventable, and now is the time for lawmakers, policy leaders and advocates on all sides to seek common ground and save lives.”

Yep, more government intrusion into our lives all for public health and social justice.  Government elite love power.
