Police records for AOS Interview

Did any of you have to take your police clearances to the AOS interview?

I'm getting really nervous not knowing what to bring. My appointment letter is not specific ... it just says bring documents, that's it.

I'm so nervous.

I took mine but they shouldnt be needed. (especially with all the checks we have done to get this far!)

Pretty much I took everything but the kitchen sink and would of taken that had I been able to fit it in! Unfortunately I didnt take a copy of the I-693A. Had fingers crossed my completed DS-3025 would of been sufficient but no such luck.

Dont be nervous... relax and just be yourselves at the interview.

OK. I will bring mine just in case. They kept my original one for Germany, in Germany but I have a copy. I have my original one for Texas though. I sent my I-693A with my I-485 application.

Did you basically just take documents proving that you are in a legitimate marriage? I just have no idea what to bring and I am a bit upset that there was no list on my interview appt. letter.

693A? Isn't that the vaccination supplement? I sent that in with their I-485. Will I need another copy of it if they have an interview?

You do not need to take police reports to an AOS interview..... as for the vaccination supplement you only need to take that if you did not send it with your AOS packet....

Oh no, only if you did not send it in. I sent mine in with my I-485

Police reports are only required for visa applications, not AOS. You need not take them with you to the interview.

since my husband had 2 previous convictions for drunk & disorderly conduct, I sent in a copy of his police report with the I-485 application, just to be safe.

I wouldn't think that you would need one-just my opinion

Did they ask for such a report in the AOS instructions?

EDIT: Actually as your husband was arrested, presumably it is required to send this information as he would have had to tick "yes" to one of the "no questions". I believe in this case you are required to explain the reason for ticking "yes" on a seperate piece of paper, although the AOS form does not specifically ask for police record.

since he was technically "arrested" we did have to tick "yes" and so that is why I sent in the info(so that we didn't risk an RFE). I am pretty sure they did ask for the report

I think in your case you did the right thing. However I would say in a normal case where no crimes/arrests have been committed its definitely not necessary.

you are 100% right...... people with no arrest record would not have to submit the police clearance. I just happen to be married to an Irishman...who was arrested for drunk & disorderly twice on Paddy's Day in Dublin! what are the chances of that happening?
