Op, your 2 questions were answered by others. My comments are about the K1 for Russia.

I haven't checked recently, but the Moscow embassy has been closed for a while.  Poland has started accepting transfers from Russia for CR1 a few months back, but there is a huge backlog.

If you have physically met in the last 2 years, you can file for the K1.  Perhaps in the next year Russia may open and start resuming visa applications.

But it may be better to spend some more time together in a 3rd country, marry and file CR1.

Sure, appreciate the advice! We have met once already (I went to Russia), and planning two more trips before the end of year (including one next week!)

It's an interesting decision right now to determine if CR1 is a better decision than K1. Looking at the timeline info here, it seems like K1 would be the right way to go to be together sooner. CR1 would definitely shorten the overall AOS timeframe, but I think we're both looking at the calendar and timeframes involved, and think the K1 might be the better route to pursue at the moment.

And yeah, the whole Moscow embassy fiasco I've been watching the forums/updates closely. I would hope that in 6-8 months (ie, by the time a K1 is close to ready) that they have figured it out... But who is to know.

An option is to marry through ZOOM or Microsoft Teams while the officiant is in Utah County; you two can be together in Russia if you want:

Sometimes I-130 petitions are adjudicated pretty fast:

K1 will not be faster than CR1 at Moscow. It will be the same or even longer if for example Warsaw will only take spousal visa applicants. Most consulates prioritize spousal over fiancé visas. Plus all that backlog…. I would definitely opt for spousal if I were you.

Hi all, so I had hopefully a quick question about info from a previous marriage. I (many moons ago) married a young lady on an F1 student visa, and with good intentions, was her sponsor for I-485 adjustment of status. This was approved in 2016, and since then I haven't had any further dealings with USCIS (and ended up getting a divorce...)

Long story short, I ended up meeting a foreigner (Russian), and we've discussed the possibility of her moving her/furthering our lives together. My primary questions are, when I fill form I-129f:

1) box 1 "A-number" - I am a naturalized US citizen (from ~2003 or '04, I was a kid), do I still need to put that number on my form? I think it's on my naturalization certificate.

2) USCIS online account number - I previously had registered my email/online due to my first marriage. I went back to the USCIS online page but couldn't see any account number, etc, should I just leave it blank? Especially since this is a new case?

A-number is for Aliens, NOT for citizens like you, So, leave it empty.

After you file a form on line the system will give you an account number, So, for now live it empty also.

Incorrect.

I was naturalized when I was 8.  I have an A number, and USCIS filled it in when I submitted our K1.

I agree with @powerpuff. I started with K1 and waited 9 months, decided CR1 was better and got married. Got USCIS approval in less than 6 months. Don't make my same mistake. I should have gone with CR1 from the start.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

Thanks, actually your case is one that I've been reading up on :) though I have a similar concern about the evidence to provide as you - I'm already pretty set up in the US, so there wouldn't be much I can add her to except for maybe joint cash accounts. We have met twice already this year, July and Sept, and I'll probably be going back in Dec again.

OH! Nice :) Glad our story could help. Many, many couples don't have a chance to live together before submitting the petition. I submitted proof of all of our time together, chats between us, pics with family/friends, etc. We had no bank accounts or shared property/ leases etc.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁
