Hi everyone

On July 1, 2021, our I-485 interview was scheduled for July 28, 2021. Since my wife and I were out of country due to a family emergency, we called USCIS on July 9, 2021 and asked them to reschedule our interview. USCIS representative made a request on our behalf and gave us a referral number. On September 9, 2021 (today), we got an email from USCIS letting us know that our interview was cancelled and notice was ordered. I really do not know if this notice is for the original appointment or my request to reschedule the appointment was denied.

The email says:

“On September 9, 2021, we cancelled your interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, and mailed you a cancellation notice. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if we need something from you. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by October 9, 2021, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing    address.”

Here  is our case history:

Did you have advance parole?

You'll have to wait and see what the notice says.

Yes, we got the advance parole before. After that, we were able to travel overseas.
