Hi everyone! So we got our interview this morning, most questions were made to my wife, the US citizen, only a couple and easy questions for me, the officer focused a lot on the fact that my wife became a US citizen through naturalization on May 2019 and she petioned for me on November 2019 😑, we had a 3 years relationship already by then and 2 years engaged, plus if you're in love and want to be with your loved one you don't wanna wait for anything, so she stated at the end our case will be under review but what's kinda tricky is that she said "I can't tell you when exactly your green card will arrive but I do know it'll be valid for 2 years since you've been married for less than one year, make sure you apply for a renewal 90 days before this one expires, if by then you two are still married and it's been over 3 years of marriage just go straight for your citizenship instead of greencard renewal" she then handed me a sheet that states our case is under review, it makes no sense tho, if me as an officer am thinking this may not be a truthful marriage I would've asked more personal questions rather than all questions she made, they were too general

I'm sure you'll soon see your status change to approved.

Congrats on completing your interview and fingers crossed for the good news soon.

Ditto. The vast majority of cases go under review after interview (regardless of whether you are told explicitly or not), and the famous "on the spot" approval, while it certainly exists, is not the experience of the vast majority interviewees.

Hopefully you will hear shortly!

Few reasons why they didnt say approved on the spot:

background check not completed

medical was just submitted during interview

mine was the latter… don’t worry about it.

I thank you so much for such a clear answer, I actually submitted my medical during the interview cause the one I did for my k1 had already expired, also the scanner didn't like us cause it stopped working just when she was trying to upload my medical so she said would have someone from tech support to fix it and submit it either yesterday or today lol,  I was under the impression you get a final decision on the spot, as a lot of people have been reporting so in this site, I'll update once I get any notification. Thanks everybody for your positive thoughts and sharing your experiences

Hello everyone. So we sent our petition for adjustment of status and work authorization back in September 2021, got biometrics appointment in October 2021, now it's June 2022 and we still didn't even get work permit, after 9 months :( Is this normal? We are in NYC so maybe it's because a lot of people are applying? It's just crazy that it takes so long :(

I am sorry you are having to wait so long. EAD and AP are processed centrally, so location doesn’t make a difference. GC is reviewed centrally but then the interview timing varies depending on local office as the interview is at your field office.

Hopefully you will hear something soon. As for how normal it is…I had my GC interview a couple of weeks ago, but up until then did not have EAD or AP - so yes, I guess it is quite normal, but it is also very frustrating.

I keep my fingers crossed that you get good news soon!

Hi guys, just want to post an update.

After almost 9 months, my EAD is finally approved and card is being produced. I think it is also a combo card since I saw the Combo approval document in my USCIS account. Is that correct? Also how many days have you waited until you received the card? Thanks.

Wow congratulations! So happy for you! I didn’t get EAD/AP but for GC it was 8 days from approval to delivery!

My husband still hasn't received the work permit either! He's going crazy because he's bored sitting at home :( Hopefully we both hear something SOON!

Did you try expediting the EAD or AP? I received my EAD in April. And around end of May I submitted an expedite request for my AP. I just received an update that my AP has been approved. Try submitting a request through the emma chat if you haven't already.
