Negative for us.

I guess both having cell phones on the same bill is important.

We didn’t get the same phone plan yet as my wife is still on her parents and it is a pain to change. Hopefully be okay though, we have lots of other joint stuff, rent, car, insurance, internet, travel etc.

Don't sweat it. There's probably stuff you have that we don't.

You go with what you have.

I received an email this morning from USCIS saying that they took action on our case and to check the myuscis website  for case status.

I signed on and I don't see anything. So likely they did take action but this is one case where the website is not updated. Or it will happen later.

My experience, after receiving this norification of action, it always updated next day on the USCIS website account.

We had our I-485 interview today.

Reading the rest of the posts here, we ensured we had all of our documents prepared. For us, the interview was probably a total of 10 minutes max. The officer only asked for our marriage certificate and fired about 30 different questions to my wife about our relationship and if anything has changed since we filed, etc. The only snag for us was the officer asked my wife for her medical paperwork. However, her medical paperwork was given to her in a sealed envelope that couldn't be opened and she had to hand it off to the customs officers at the border on initial arrival to the US on her K-1. The officer said he'd have to look into that and seemed surprised that we didn't have a copy.

At the end of the interview, he said that the Green Card could take about 4-5 weeks to process and potentially longer due to COVID. My wife was hoping to travel back to the Netherlands to see her family and attend a wedding in ~3 weeks, and the officer suggested we try for a I-551 stamp. Has anybody done the I-551 stamp process in order to travel prior to getting the Green Card? We filed a I-131 Advanced Parole in Sep 2021 but it looks like our Green Card will be processed prior to the I-131.

Thank you!

Congrats on completing your interview and hopefully she will receive approval soon.

Has your case status been updated to Approved yet?

My understanding of the I-551 is that you can request to have that stamped in your passport only after you have gotten approval but haven't received the physical card. You can also request it in the event that someone loses their card but needs to travel or show proof that they are a legal resident. However, as I stated before, you first need to get the approval.

It hasn't been updated to Approved on the USCIS system, still shows "Interview Scheduled". Hopefully it will be updated in a few days. Although, if for whatever reason they can't find my wife's medical paperwork, I fear that could cause a delay in the process.

I guess we will wait and see.

Fingers crossed for you. I must say I am confused by your medical issue, since I was under the impression that all K-1s were supposed to surrender their medical envelope at the POE.

It is absolutely crazy that the interviewer didn't have that among their documents for you guys!!! Hopefully they locate it and give you guys your approval soon.

As soon as you get the approval notice you can get an InfoPass appointment to have the I-551 stamped in your wife's passport or wait a week to receive the physical card if it is within her travel plans timeline

For the medical, we had the sealed envelope which we surrendered at the POE and then they algo gave us an original copy.

We had the original and copy for the interview. Officer initially asked for it but them she said it was already in the file.

Oh yes I have heard there is some difference in practice between consulates where some give just the sealed package for surrender and some give sealed + copy.

That would have been nice. My wife only got the original copy in a sealed envelope and had to give it up at her POE into the US.
