My I-485 status today changed to interview was scheduled! Quite happy as I have no movement on EAD or AP.

Does anybody have any experience of a) when you actually find out when the interview is? It doesn’t say in MyUSCIS and they don’t seem to have uploaded the letter that will be mailed out. Maybe doesn’t seem that important but I am away from home right now and would like to know asap when it’ll be. And b) typical length of time between interview being scheduled and interview being held?

Thanks!

First of all, congratulations! It was the same for me: no change on EAD or AP, but I-485 interview has been scheduled. You can find out your interview date and time by chatting with a live agent on Emma.

Timing will vary by field office, but to give you an idea: my status changed on Friday and the interview is on May 24 (Chicago field office).

How do you get USPS tracking number? i.e. via email from USCIS or something gets uploaded as PDF to USCIS account

Is social security going to come seperate? I guess EAD is no good without social security.

Is social security a card?

How apart social security and EAD come to us?

So, my informed delivery showed me incoming mail from Social Security Administration but as my luck has it, that was the only piece of mail that wasn't in my box. I'm not sure if that was gonna be my ssn card or just a notice(Damn you USPS!!!)

You should receive tracking information when your status for I-765 changes to card has been mailed. There should also be a hyperlink that takes you to USPS tracking page with your tracking info.

Thanks for the hot tip! I chatted with Emma and my timeline is very similar to yours - interviewing 5/25.

Update on my missing mail. I checked my mailbox today and to my surprise the envelope from SSA turned up. It did contain my SSN number, so I'm relieved to know that it has arrived.

We got our actual letter and we have an interview on May 10th.

Question. We are adjusting from a K1 visa

Does the beneficiary need an interpreter? In the letter it made reference to one.

Also do we need an attorney at this stage? We have done this ourselves so far but I hear folks actually get an attorney to go with them to the interview.

Thanks.
