Not sure I agree with the above reply necessarily - I received my deficiency notice at the end of September 2021 and my interview wasn't scheduled until mid-March 2022. If you still need to do a medical (i.e. not a K1) I would hold off on doing it until you actually have your interview scheduled.

It depends on what state you applied from. How busy they are, and what is their processing estimate timeline. The moral of the story is, this is positive news, some light at the end of the tunnel. Having EAD being produced, courtesy deficiency letter, Imagine, this is better than staying at just the status of Evidence Submitted

Is there a reason to wait for the medical now that we have this courtesy letter? It's my understanding that the medical is valid for 2 years, correct? Wanted to get that done since the medical might take 2-3 weeks too (if you have a few missing vaccines).

Marriage to USC (H1b to GC)

9/07: Submitted I-130 and I130A online
09/14: Received NOA for I-130 in mail
9/24: Mailed I-485, I-864, I-765
9/27: Delivered to USCIS Chicago and signed by Chyba
09/29: Text messages for application
10/7: (2) NOA's for I-485 and I-765 received in mail

10/16: Online status changed to "biometrics scheduled". Bio on 11/09.

11/04: RFE received for Birth certificate

11/05: Uploaded RFE response. Status changed to "we have received RFE response"

One day after Courtesy Notice of Deficiency, it is now showing Interview is Scheduled on USCIS. No PDF attachement though. I guess I will be talking to EMMA today and find out my date

Yes, I got this green tick and special new date below. It wasnt there all this time.

I just checked my a/c on USCIS. Eventhough the apps did not give me anything new, on USCIS site, my response was received on Feb 25 and on April 1 I got that green tick.

Hopefully this means they are reviewing my parent's case again.

You are right. My parent's EAD status status changed the same day April 1. But I 485 status doesnt show anything about interview since April 1 (which is the date of that green tick message). Im in California.

Edit: Im not even sure if they do interviews for parents 70 plus. My friends both parents interviews were waived off and they got their Green Card last month.

Interesting series of events today:

1) I checked My USCIS and saw that the evidence we submitted on January 25, 2022 changed to say it had been received/reviewed on April 2.

2) I spoke to a live agent on Emma to ask if the interview had been scheduled yet. I was told no.

3) Shortly after, case status updated to say interview has been scheduled!

Do I have to wait for the interview letter to arrive in the mail or is there a way to find out the details sooner?

if you look at my screenshot above, it says expect Interview letters in the post. Yours should be same. Go to USCIS and read the actual full status again.
