Contacted USCIS via EMMA today and spoke with a representative concerning my I-485 case status. I was informed that my case is still at NBC and has now been requested for an interview. There is no time frame as to when it will be scheduled however.

Hopefully it will soon be scheduled.

How do you ask them about this? I asked for a followup regarding mine and they just answered they received my RFE response and they are still processing the case. Seems like they just read what I can read on my USCIS account.

Sooo. I just got a notification today my interview was scheduled. We filed September 1st, 2021. I am happy but also panicking because we have like no paperwork to show at the interview. We just filed our taxes but we won’t have the return in time. We also don’t have rent/utility bills because the “landlord” is his dad and there is only a verbal agreement. Yeah. 6 months wait time. New York. I thought I’d be waiting for at least another half year.

Mine is in the scheduling queue for 5 months now 😭 It all depends on the field office- in my case, they schedule early 2021 filers. So it’s a long road for me 🥴

True. It depends on the FO and how busy or productive it is.

Hopefully yours is more productive and you’ll get a date soon!!

My FO has an average case decision time of 10 to 12 months for the entire process. Hoping that mine will be outside of the lower end of that spectrum

Same for me! It’s more towards a full year. Oh well, I’m happy for people with fast field offices, but glad we’re still a strong team here waiting for longer periods of time! Keep us posted, we’re in this together.

You can try to collect some of these things:

1) Get a will and power of attorney made

2) Open joint bank account and/or credit card

3) phone bills with logs showing you calling/texting each other

4) screenshots of text messages from various dates covering the entire marriage

5) boarding pass or itinerary print outs taken together in the past

6) any xmas/wedding invites or cards sent to  you and your spouse

7) photos with clear dates on them covering the entire time-period. group photos with others are much more important

😎 any gift receipts from presents between you and your spouse

Don't feel too overwhelmed! Did you file your taxes online or on paper? In regards to your housing situation, your father-in-law can write an affidavit on your guys' behalf explaining the situation. Also try to get affidavits from a few friends or family to vouch that your marriage/relationship is authentic. If you guys have taken trips, provide the itineraries or emails for bookings and photos of you guys on these trips or with family and friends. Stay positive and try to include any small thing you think might be helpful

thank you 🥺 we filed paper because I had to request an ITIN.

We sent all of our itineraries with our K1 application and didn’t make any copies because we are dummies.

this is basically all we’ve got

- photos 2019-2021

- joint bank account

- dental insurance from his work

- life insurance

- h&r block copies of our tax paperwork for 2021

- possibly some legal statement from my father-in-law about our rent?

Haha I am still panicking
