Does anyone know if USCIS only starts to review your files after biometrics have been done? I haven't received an RFE or 693 deficiency notice, but it seems like people who've had their biometrics done (and case is actively being reviewed) start to see these. Just curious if they start reviewing before bio or only kick start after bio.

Not really after "biometrics". At least for me. I received an RFE this Nov 1 and my biometrics is on Nov 8.

Today we saw our case had been updated with an RFE for the I-864. The RFE date is November 4, exactly one week after the biometrics appointment on October 28. Going to give them everything they asked for and more to hopefully resolve this ASAP.

Does anyone know if they can issue a second RFE or if they will simply reject the application if not satisfied with the submitted evidence?

Same as us. Check my letter I posted.

What did your say?

As far as I know RFE is issued only once. You have one chance to get it right. If they are not satisfied with your response, they may reject your application.

Ours is slightly different but mostly similar to yours. Essentially it says that the submitted documents were not sufficient to determine whether the petitioning sponsor is qualified to be a sponsor.

The letter is four pages and mentions joint sponsors as well as submitting evidence of assets, with details on what types of evidence are acceptable.

Looks like I spoke a tad bit too soon. Just logged in online and saw 'request for evidence', shoot. I didn't see a letter uploaded, did you guys wait for it to come in the mail?

So update on my RFE - this morning the online account finally updated and I was able to see what it was about - long form birth certificate. Like others, I submitted my birth certificate and can even see it uploaded to the account by USCIS. This is a bit annoying.

Now originally I had sent the following 1. Long form (new version) of the birth certificate in English. 2. Copy of certificate from the hospital at the time if birth. 3. Copy of BC from the government - old handwritten version (which was also English and my native language). I thought sending all versions would minimize the chances of getting an RFE, but alas here we are. Should I upload all 3 again? Or do you think I should just upload #1 which is the most recent clean version from the govt. Just want to get it right.

Update. I had the same problem as a few others seem to have had in that I was sent a RFE for my full birth certificate, which I included in my pack and is given in the uploaded files in my online account. I responded to the RFE and will call the hotline tomorrow to double check that all is OK.

November 4, 2021 Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS.

No word if that means that my RFE response was accepted. Hopefully this is good news. Happy Friday everybody.

Hi all. I had my biometrics a few weeks ago, adjusting from k1. Since the biometrics it says USCIS is actively reviewing your case for 485 and EAD but not for AP, is this an issue?

My status changed to actively reviewing just today and I see the same. "Case is actively being reviewed" for I-485 and I-765 but no status updates for I-131.

Same here, I don't know why I-131 has not changed.

Also have a question about, if all documents are good, will we expect to received work authorisation and travel permit prior to interview of after the interview?

This used to be the case before when work permit was issued in 90-120 days. However, at present it looks like many applicants are getting their green card before the work permit, depending on the field office.
