So I went into May2021 thread and there people were found waiting for their NOAs for over a month!

My (conspiracy) theory is that USCIS might have tried to aggressively process the NOA's for the last weeks of September2021 in order to score better numbers for the cases-processed for the fiscal year that ended on September 30th.

Another fantastic thing I have noticed is that USCIS I864-EZ form has expired on 09/30/2021 however their website has no updated form on their site.

I've seen similar conspiracy theories but about overall case processing times. They are, I think, measured on how fast they complete a case fully (to acceptance/denial), not just receipt. So having cases that are unprocessed by the end of the FY might actually be counterintuitive.

Now for some data-driven theories... I'm part of a WhatsApp group for summer filers and they have all more or less gotten their NOAs within 1-2 weeks since June of this year. So looks like the Lockbox has just gotten through it's backlog.

And now for another (maybe more likely IMO) conspiracy theory...On Reddit I saw a post where someone said USCIS was processing 2021 cases faster (from receipt to acceptance/denial) because it brought down their overall average case processing times. It could also be that from June/July they started moving most concurrent AOS cases to their online ELIS system and issuing IOE receipt notices, so it's easier to track and process case files. Plus more accountability for individual officers like how fast they take to go through a given case, and not misplacing any cases.

Also just because the form "expires" doesn't make it unusable. It just means USCIS needs to issue a new form from the OMB. The only thing to keep note of is if they issue a form with a new expiry date, like the I-693, and say "we won't accept old forms after XYZ dates." But that hasn't happened with the I-864-EZ AFAIK.

  • October 2nd 2021 - Biometrics appointment scheduled according to case status checker
  • October 3rd 2021 - USPS informed delivery for letter from DHS (probably biometric appointment letter). Asked “EMMA” for my online access code and got it. Biometric Appointment scheduled for October 27th 2021 at 10am. The access code was for all three forms I-485, I-765 and I-131.

Hi, reference to the above three lines from your reply to OP

1. How did you know prior to anything i.e. any letter or having to have an online access code that your Biometrics are scheduled?

2. How to check status without an online access code?

3. I have received my acknowledgment/receipt letters. Shall I ask EMMA for my online access code, do you suggest it is a good idea?

Many thanks in advance

Hey! So:

1. my case status updated online. I use an app called “Case Tracker” and it notified me. You can also use the official case status checker website from USCIS with your receipt numbers: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

2. refer to previous

3. You can ask Emma for the access codes. First Ask to speak to a live agent then ask them for the access codes. All the notices that USCIS sends will be posted on the online myUSCIS account first. So you’ll know ahead of time much faster than snail mail (Once you use the access code to link to your paper filed case to the account)

Nice!! Mine was dated October 2nd as well but I haven’t received it in the mail yet. However if you get the online access code, you’ll see the PDF appointment notice under case documents. It will probably be for both I-485 and I-765. The most recent USPS informed delivery letter from DHS on my timeline was actually my access code notice/welcome letter. So you may get that first before the interview notice.

The same day I asked Emma for my access code, I received the actual letter with the code in the mail lol. I guess maybe I was too eager. But I’m glad that now I can see the notices the moment they’re generated instead of having to wait on the snail mail

It is only showing Biometrics agaisnt I-485's receipt number, rest only showing (application received notice was sent)

Is this same case with you? or it should show Biometrics for all four petitions

I will try to chat with EMMA during working hours today

Yea through the case tracker website, the biometrics scheduled status change was only for my I-485 receipt number. But the actual appointment notice said it was for both I-485 and I-765

Sorry for asking again:

What date your package was received by them?

What date did you say you received online access code physical letter?

I was just telling mrs. this guy ahead of all of us lol, your posts gave me impression that you always know everything before even USCIS posts anything, i told her this guys is genuios.

From you I got the idea of registering with USPS, case status checker, online access code via EMMA.

Many many thanks

Hah I appreciate the sentiments but I honestly learned everything I shared with you from other very knowledgeable members on this forum! So kudos to them as well.

Packet received on September 22. I got the access code letter on October 3. Here’s my timeline:

  • September 18th 2021 - Filed I-130 online, received PDF I-797 same day with priority date of September 19th 2021

  • September 22nd 2021 - USPS confirms delivery of packet
  • September 25th 2021 - USPS informed delivery of letter from DHS (probably I-797 for I-130), it was.
  • September 26th 2021 - SMS notification of receipt numbers for I-485, I-765, I-131 at 6:22pm PST
  • September 28th 2021 - Money Orders cashed according to USPS
  • September 30th 2021 - USPS informed delivery of 3 letters from USCIS NBC (probably I-797s for other forms) - received.

So the obvious difference between our application are:

1. You did online I-130 where I did all paper written

2. You packet they received on 22nd September where mine was received by them on 27th

So mine should come next week

Man, you two are making me anxious. I have pretty much time same time line as you but no biometrics appointment yet 😭

I also tried the live agent on Emma about the online access code, but he/she directed me to the web form instead. See their response: If you are locked out or having technical problems with your USCIS online account, please go to my.uscis.gov/account/needhelp and fill out the web form.

If anyone got their access code from Emma, is this what you had to do? I thought the live agent will just send it to me via email or text.

Marriage to USC (H1b to GC)

Friend, we both also have not received any Biometrics letter yet. We just checked online status where it is showing Biometrics scheduled.

No physical letter yet

1. Have you checked online status against receipt numbers?

2. Regarding online chat, did you manage to get hold of human during chat?

Don’t worry! Did you receive the receipt numbers yet? Also, if you contact Emma trying to reach a live agent outside business hours, she’ll give you those kinds of responses. So make sure it’s during business hours. The agent should give you the code within the actual chat once you provide the receipt numbers
