Hi All,

Thought I would add to the community here :) We filed for my wife online (Albany, NY; 3 year through marriage) on September 28. Got notice within 3 days (last week) that biometrics will not be needed and got another notice yesterday that her interview has been scheduled for Nov 10th. We are pleasantly surprised with how quick this has moved - fingers crossed that rest of it goes smoothly as well.

Anyone else from Albany here?

Whoa!!! Congrats! I filed mine September 27.

Hi, can you tell us if you had a combo interview?

I am assuming this question was for me. No, we applied for her greencard like 3 years after we got married so she got a 10 year greencard 3 years ago. This application is just the N-400.

Hope it moves quickly for you! Did you get any notice on re-using biometrics yet?

Yes. I got the notice to reuse my biometrics same day I filed online. I received the physical notices just yesterday.

We applied for an I-751 (Nov 2020) and then N-400 (Sept 2021) and thought of asking for combined adjudication. Then in Sept we got a notice saying the N400 petition was received and accepted (first letter), N400 online access code for USCIS site (second letter), N400 bio metric will be reapplied (third letter) and I-751 was approved (fourth letter) in about a 7 day window. Then the following week the actual card, so will not need a combined interview, but we will need to update our file to show the I-751 was approved.

As far as i recall anyone who moves permanently needs to efile an AR-11 and if the service centers are different, they will transfer the file and if the field officers are different, they will transfer the file. This might delay the case, it might not depending on which office has a heavier case load. Usually moving to LA, probably wont affect the timeline as they have more cases but more people working on them, to the average might be the same as the current field office.

No; Just N-400. My wife did not have to do I-751 since we had already been married for 3 years by the time we applied for her GC so she got a 10-year greencard the first time round.

Ok, thank you much, good luck to both of you.

I filed on 9/15 and status still shows that case is being actively reviewed by USCIS officer. What  is the next step that shows on case status?
P.S. Already received receipt notice and Biometric reuse in mail and on online account as well.

My lawyer sent out my N-400 application on September 14th after 10 days I received all the 3 letters like you. Now is the long waiting time to be scheduled for the interview. But you can always just log into your online account and check you status. I would suggest to check also the DOCUMENTS tab as well don't just rely on the estimated time. But don't worry you will receive a letter when they will schedule your interview. I filed in New York City and here the waiting time is quite long.... Did you filed online or paper form?

I filed online. What 3 letters did you get? I only got 2 letters, one is Biometric reuse and another one receipt notice. What is 3rd?

The 3rd was with the access code to be able to check my status  online .
