5 days of movement again, backlog is still slowly growing

For some weird reason I still see the 12-Oct date on the department of state website.

They didn't want my step daughters birth certificate, in Honduras there is this book called, "Copia de folio de nacimiento" it's pretty much where you write the information by hand and the BC is generated from there. So they wanted a copy of that, which I would thing a BC is more legit but nope they wanted that instead.

So now we are in the waiting game again, which is extremely stressful, hopefully they don't take more than 2 months but looking at the way they are working seems like they will take way over 2 months ☹️

Yeah, I would have thought the BC would be what they wanted. I really hope you don’t have to start the wait all over again

Actually called and after being on hold for a while I spoke to someone that told me I have to wait until they get to the review date that I submitted the BC on, so it was thrown to the back of the line ☹️

We just received a notice of action on one our cases (son of US citizen).  Unfortunately, it is an RFE regarding documents required by Taiwan.  They are saying Taiwan requires to birth documents (instead of the one birth certificate we sent).  Anyone from Taiwan know about that?

But the good news is that they are looking at August (ours is Aug 2nd) cases now!

Great hear you were reviewed, sorry that it was an RFE, without wanting to to go off topic too much on this thread, you might find the Civil Documents by Country section in the state dept site useful , Taiwan is located here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Taiwan.html

It does say:
Comments: Immigrant visa applicants are required to submit a current Household Registration Record as well as a birth certificate.  Applicants who are unable to obtain their birth certificate – for example, those born in Taiwan during the Japanese occupation that ended in 1945, or those who came from mainland China following WWII — may provide their initial Household Registration Record as an alternative to the birth certificate.

if you want more help / further discussion  I would suggest opening a new thread with this either in the NVC section or under the Asia: East and Pacific section.

Good to hear you’ve been reviewed but sorry to hear about the RFE.  Hopefully they’ll review you again soon after you upload the required document(s).

Yeah it's important to review country specific civil documents needed. I literally read and reread it and wrote them down on my phone and checked them off one by one as we collected them. Then when uploading, I put the ones not labeled (like bc and photo etc) in other documents.

Now I'm just hoping for the best *fingers crossed*

What if someon doesn’t have a Covid shot by the time medical comes for august submission

welcome, please fill in your profile and timeline, it will help everyone here to help you and to put your questions into context for us. also before posting search the forum to see if your question has already been answered, or if there is already a discussion around it. If you're posting a reply try and keep with the main theme of the original post.

my understanding is that if you have not had a vaccine, you will be offered it as an extra service at the medical exam, at least this is the case in the UK, i can't see which country your interview will be.in most cases if you submitted to the NVC in August you are unlikely to get your interview (+medical) anytime soon as there are significant backlogs at most embassies.

If you want some more help I would suggest you create a new thread in the relevant region forum for your country where others who are at the interview / medical exam stage can share their experience. the regional section is here: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/100-regional-discussion/

My submission for the NVC was actually 31 July (not August), however I thought I would post in this topic to let everyone know that I got DQ 8 hours ago (21 October).  This will hopefully give everyone some idea of the progress at the NVC.  Wishing everyone the best of luck.

@TGDeano@ArwaE@Saqib-s

Thank you for the encouragement and info.  I am pretty sure of what needs to be added -- hopefully there's a different, shorter line for RFE's?

if you read through this thread or many of the others, you will see that generally speaking when you have to re-submit a document after a review your submission date becomes the date of your last submission and you go back to the end of queue and wait the 82~ days  again for the NVC to review.
