You mentioned that you added some documents but you didn't get pushed back in date. I want to add a document but I am afraid they might push my date. When did you add that document? Soon after you submitted the initial documents or later?

Thank you!

Also a question: maybe you can answer it or someone else on the group. I was told by our attorney that the list of documents by country are not necessarily  mandatory for NVC - just a reference. In the list for our country, identity card is part of the list. Our attorney said that is not required. Has anyone uploaded their ID (not US from other countries) as part of their civil documents? if not has NVC requested it as a RFE?

You’re welcome, and sorry I don’t know the answer to your question but if it were me, I would include it because NVC seems to be really picky lately.  Someone got an RFE bc they didn’t send a copy of the blank side of a death certificate.  Another person got an RFE for including both the long and short forms of the birth certificate in one file. This particular person had other RFE things so I’m not sure if the birth certificate issue would have been a non-issue if there weren’t other things.  You just never know with them but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

There is a nice report that lists all immigrant visas granted by any US Consulate by month.  If we can know the list of people DQ'ed in our visa category/country and waiting in queue for an interview, we will know exactly how many days it would be to get our interview call.

First review was July 6th. They asked to submit govt issued marriage certificate. I had to get it issued from home country thus delayed.

Based on some of my analysis based on the above document for the past couple years, it looks like they will pick up some visa issuance starting November, December months, starts of new fiscal year.

Two hijack posts have been removed.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I did not find that info anywhere. If we find the answer to that question, we will know exactly how long it takes to get the interview letter.

I do not think we can make a general statement like this. It is mainly based on the Consulate/Post.

Our application will go to Mumbai (India) so obviously I am interested in that Consulate and was calculating some numbers.

I looked at visa numbers of IR1 from Mar 2019 through Feb 2020 (12 months before COVID situation started). the average is 75 IR1 visas per month.  They issued 76 IR1 visas in September 2021. This tells me that the issuance is back to normal at least at Mumbai.  If I knew the IR1 visa applications DQ'ed and backlog applications, I can come up with best estimates for interview dates.

Thank you!
