My father-in-law PapaPana is DQ since 9-10-2020. Am waiting for interview date before I can go back to college; child care is big issue. Delay twice because of this.

Twice over, Manila Communication Consulate (MCC) said no USCIS approved visa  while NVC claimed DQ, all done. 🙄

I would scream: OOOOOOdd Squad!

Not sure what you mean by this.  USCIS does not approve visas, they approve petitions.  NVC DQ simply means they've reviewed the submitted documents.  Neither USCIS nor NVC have any control over whether there are available interview slots at the consulate in Manila.  Your FIL's case will sit at NVC until the consulate has available slots.

Dear Sir/Madam:

This case is now documentarily qualified. This means that the National Visa Center (NVC) has all of the documents we requested. Your application is now waiting for an interview appointment, where a consular officer will adjudicate it.

After all, why Manila Consular Communications Group raise the alarm? How did they know the nature of my father-in-law's case? NVC would naturally proceed, with Immigrant Visa Process, after obtain pass-through USCIS-approved visa petition (step 1) and paying AOS fees, through CEAC Processing.

I noticed this thread, to date, yield most positive success rate on IR5. After long thaw since the pandemic began, my best wishes to all applicants/petitioners on obtain their visa.

The email response you received based on your inquiries (which I myself received the same verbiage in the past when I inquired for my parents’ status), Manila US Embassy is telling you that they have not yet received your case for your FIL. This is very common and longer due to pandemic that cases after being DQ’d at the NVC (their role is to collect fees and necessary documents) will stay there until US Embassy in Manila notifies them of visa appointment interview availability. Once a visa interview becomes available, NVC will communicate this to you and forward your case to MNL USEm. For now, most DQ’d cases are at the NVC until interview appointment becomes available. And this is case to case basis. For example: Since my expedite request was approved, my parents’ cases were sent directly to USEm without NVC notifying me of interview schedule. MNL USEm will communicate directly to me of the appointment once determined.

US from I have read on yahoo news are now opening it’s borders to allow entry as long as fully vaccinated. Cross fingers that will speed up the backlog on the immigration system.

I do hope that your FIL receives his interview appointment and notice from NVC soon, and everyone here that are patiently waiting.

Thank you for the information. Very helpful. I tried to send a expedite interview. My reason is that i have 3 kids, 1 went back to school, 1 is 1 1/2 year old and 1 has autism and needs close attention. As i cant do it alone because i have baby aswell. Very frustrating, i cannot afford baby sitter then i have to stop working 😔😔😔

You just need to upload all updated documents. Such as recent W2s and tax transcripts (ie 2020 tax transcripts). Be sure to bring the physical copy on her interview date! Goodluck to your mom!

You just need to upload all updated documents. Such as recent W2s and tax transcripts (ie 2020 tax transcripts). Be sure to bring the physical copy on her interview date! Goodluck to your mom!

Thank you! She had her interview done yesterday. She said the officer basically told her the recommendation is a visa approval.

You had a post where you showed a screenshot of the visa “issued” in CEAC. Was that right when you logged in? I can still log in and I don’t know where to find that.

Congratulations to you and your mom! You dont need to sign in on your ceac account. You just need to click this link https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx and put in your petition details and it will show you if they already updated it. It will say Issued if visa is approved and It will say Ready if they havent updated on their end!
