Aww, hope you get a reschedule appointment for them soon. It’s so hard to get appointments lately since the last time they allowed online scheduling.

Thanks. Might work out better with covid. Parents won't travel alone and getting in there a pain. If it slips to April May timeframe might be better. Thought Sputum was a two month culture anyway.

I just told them that with the current pandemic, everything is unpredictable and hoping to spend more time with my children (their grandchildren) while they can.

No, my parents are still in the Philippines. After 2 months of expedite approval, I went ahead and scheduled them for medical. They are now just waiting for the interview schedule. Looks like no one got appointment for February yet.

I just got an email for their interview on February! Thank god 🙏🏼

hi all  - It's been a while since the last time I was here. Things have changed for couple of weeks now. My mom died just after new years and it has been really tough. She is one of my beneficiaries along with my father. I have not looked on how to update either USCIS/NVC or the Manila US Embassy  about the change yet. I was wondering if anyone has the same experience?

I’m so sorry for your loss..prayers for you and entire family🙏🏼

Yes just bring DS-260. They will be asked to sign a waiver though. That if the medical expires (6mos for normal and 3mos if sputum) and you still haven’t had interview, then you will need to redo the medical and pay again.

Hello,

That is my biggest worry too.  My mother-in-law's sputum test came back neg, so she is good on medical until April 6.  I saw that somebody posted Feb 14 appointments were already gone and I've noticed that it is not easy to get these appointments.  With all that she has to do, what is the the latest date that she needs to get for the interview appointment, receive the visa, and fly out by that time?  Any chance of requesting an expedited appointment request?  Thanks for all your answers!

In case it helps anyone, this was my experience with booking a visa appointment online last month:

It was December 28th, 7AM EST (8PM  Philippines time). I wasn't really expecting to book an appointment; I logged into the site to check on something else. I looked at the calendar out of curiosity, and the entire second-half of January was available - something like 10 slots for each day. Since USEM would have already been closed for a few hours at that point, I figure those appointments were probably up there for a good while. I took my time, considered what was the most convenient slot for us, and picked a date/time (I chose the 20th @ 8AM). I didn't have the feeling that I needed to rush before they were all gone - there were plenty.

I can't tell you whether or not there is a pattern in their release schedule, or if demand for appointments within the past month has drastically shot up to the point that they are gone within minutes, but that was my experience less than 30 days ago.

If this is your concern, I would once again advise you to call USEM directly:

PH Number: (632) 5301-2000

US Number: (703) 520-2235

Or fill out the inquiry form online, explaining your situation and make an expedite request here:
