CR1 - driver's license

Hello everyone, i have a little complicated question. My CR1 is on process and we are on the last steps. But, we still have not decided to move back to the US for good. We are currently living in dubai. Can i use my CR1 visa as a multiple entry visa just to go on vacation every year until we move for good? Like without filing an adjustment status because i read that you need to file adjustment of status as soon as u enter the states or you will lose your chance.  Also would i be able to get a driver's license even if i still do not have my greencard given we are not moving yet.

Thanks in advance

you do not AOS on CR1

if married under 2 years the green card will be for 2 years and you need to ROC to lift conditions for the 10 year card

But this visa is to live in the US and although you can leave after getting the card and return here

you are limited to how long you should stay out of the country

and you can apply for driver's license in the state you will live in / check that DMV site for the process

CR1 is clearly called an immigrant visa, not a tourist/temporary visa, and there is no AOS. Driver's license requirements depends on your specific state so check their website.

Thank you, may i know what Roc is im trying to google it but it keeps giving me different ones. So ya that was my concern i do not want to go back and forth and can only stay outside the US for maximum 6 months coz we are still living in dubai and no plans of going home for good. So i cant use my CR1 and enter and go back to dubai again? Just like a tourist? Coz we're trying to apply for a tourist visa but the appointment keeps getting moved a year. Twice now

After your spousal visa is issued, you can enter the US, then immediately return to Dubai to tie up loose ends.  However, staying outside the US for more than a year will result in the assumption that you have abandoned your residency.  Your Green Card cannot be used as a glorified tourist visa.  There are responsibilities such as taxes and residency requirements.

As a legal resident, you will have the same tax responsibility as a US citizen.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
