IR1 NVC/USCIS entry packet?

Hello,

We just received our IR1 visa, but researching entry protocols, we noticed that we need a sealed packet from USCIS/NVC. The only documents we have been sent is the envelope from the embassy, which included a passport- which we obviously need to open in order to travel.

I read in another thread that these documents are being handled digitally, and there is no longer a need to present document packets at the POE for IR1 visas. Is this correct? Should we be waiting for another envelope? or did we royally screw up by opening the passport envelope from the embassy?

Thank you for your help.

You will not receive another envelope.  Most consulates stopped giving those packets years ago. If you didn't receive the packet, don't worry about it.

Does the IR1 visa say: "IV DOCS IN CCD"?  If so, there will be no sealed packet from the embassy.  The case files would have been sent to DHS electronically.  No need to worry about hand-carrying the packet to CBP at POE.

Thanks for the quick responses. It doesn't say anything like this, but based on Crazy Cat's response, maybe they have done away with even mentioning it.

I suppose I won't hold my breath for any more mail.
